USA (Update): CDC reports that it has now confirmed 76 outbreak cases of shiga toxin-producing E. coli and/or Salmonella Agona infections linked to alfalfa sprouts. Cases have been reported from 16 states, and six people have been hospitalized.

Food Safety Recall: Krasnyi Oktyabr USA Inc. recalls Starfish Seafood Cold Smoked Seafood Trio – Salmon, Halibut, Trout (8 oz; Lot D139149161-153; Best before 01.21.2027) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Alert: New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets warns consumers in and around Oneida County not to purchase or consume raw milk from Big Brook Farm (Lee Center, NY) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The producer is now prohibited from selling raw milk until subsequent sampling indicates that the product is free of harmful bacteria.

Allergy Alert: Marché Bento Kim Longueuil (Longueuil, QC) recalls Custard fish cake (All lots; UPC 300000001013) due to undeclared wheat and soy.
