As of July 13, 2026, the agency has received reports of 1,645 confirmed domestic cases of cyclosporiasis and is aware of more than 5,100 cases that require further analysis. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has recorded 2,640 cases in that state alone. The source or sources of the outbreaks has (have) not yet been identified. Michigan announced yesterday that current results point to lettuce or salad greens as a potential source for this outbreak, although other food items cannot be completely ruled out.
