United States

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: FDA reports that the outbreak of acute non-viral hepatitis in Southern Nevada has grown to include eleven confirmed and one suspect case. The illnesses are associated with consumption of Real Water brand bottled Alkaline Water.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: FDA is working with the CDC to identify the source of an outbreak of fifteen E. coli O145:H28 illnesses. No other details have been released.

Allergy Alert: Basic Grain Products, Inc. recalls Kroger and Stop & Shop brand’s Caramel Rice Cakes due to undeclared milk. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: Velvet Ice Cream recalls all of its ice cream and sherbet products made on or after March 24, 2021 due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were distributed in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia.

Canada

Food Safety Recall: Boucherie Française recalls all raw meats and ready-to-eat food items prepared in the store because the recalled items may be unfit for human consumption. Please refer to the recall notice for additional details.

Europe

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (SWEDEN): An outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis infections that has sickened 32 people in 15 counties has been linked to consumption of Eldorado brand Chocolate Wafers.

Allergy Alert Update (Belgium): Scoop BC recalls Akiié brand Piment—red, yellow and green varieties (110 ml and 228 ml; All lot codes and expiration dates) due to undeclared soy.

Allergy Alert (Belgium): JOUETS BROZE FILS SA recalls UPYAA brand TETES BRULEES LA FABRIK A FIL (550g; All lot codes; Expiration date 09/2022) due to undeclared barley (gluten).

Allergy Alert (France): Auchan recalls Auchan brand Jus ABC de Raisin / Grape juice (6x20cl; Use by 28/08/2021, 28/09/2021. 28/11/2021, 28/01/2022 & 28/02/2022) due to undeclared sulphites.

Allergy Alert Update (Ireland): Savana Milk Chocolate Raisins (175g; Batch codes 0120239 and 0121015; Best before 04/08/2021 and 22/02/2022) contains undeclared peanuts.

Allergy Alert (UK): Hoffmans Foods recalls Hoffman’s Chopped Herring (150g; Batch code 21098; Use by 13 May 2021) due to undeclared egg and sulphites.

Food Safety Recall (Belgium): Industry recalls La Bio Idea brand Pesto Siciliano (Lot #LE 2881 FCP9; Expiration date 10/2023) due to potential foreign matter (pieces of glass) contamination.

Food Safety Recall (Belgium): Industry recalls HUSK brand Psyllium-Frøskaller, Psyllium – Mavebalance and FiberHUSK psyllium-husk products (All lot codes and expiration dates) due to Salmonella contamination.
