United States

Public Health Alert: USDA issues public health alert because Pigeon Caterers, Inc., doing business as Carnival Brands, a New Orleans, La. establishment, produced and distributed approximately 140 pounds of a chicken and pork product without the benefit of federal inspection. Please refer to the USDA notice for additional details.

Allergy Alert: Bulletproof 360, Inc. recalls Bulletproof Collagen Protein dietary supplement (16 oz; Lot #1017088; Expiry March 2019; UPC 8 15709 02115 3) due to undeclared milk. The recalled product was sold directly to distributors in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IN, NH, NY, OR, PA, SC, TX, WA, and WI and product has been further distributed to retail stores nationwide.

Food Safety Recall: National Frozen Foods Corporation recalls a limited quantity of Not-Ready-To Eat Individually Quick Frozen (IQF) green beans and IQF mixed vegetables due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were distributed to foodservice accounts in bulk and packaged containers in AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, IL, KS, MI, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA between August 18, 2017 and January 12, 2018.

Food Safety Recall: Rich Products Corporation recalls Member’s Mark Casa DI BERTACCHI ITALIAN STYLE BEEF MEATBALLS (36-lb. cases containing six 6-lb. bags; Best by 17 DEC 2018; Lot #15507351) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled product was shipped to distributors in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Canada

Food Safety Recall: ARZ Fine Foods and Bulk Food Stop Inc. recall certain Sesame Seeds due to possible Salmonella contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for details on the affected product and its distribution.

Food Safety Recall: HelloFRESH recalls HelloFRESH Sesame Seeds (included in Toasted Brown Rice Bowl) (9g) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled product was supplied to retailers in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.

Food Safety Recall: Iqbal Halal Foods recalls IHF brand White Sesame Seeds (200g and 400g; Product codes 2-1217 and 4-1217, respectively) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled product was sold at Iqbal Halal Foods, 2 Thorncliffe Pk, Dr., Toronto, ON.

Food Safety Recall: North American Impex recalls Naturally Good Hulled Sesame Seeds (50; Lot #1708-01; Prod. date 08/2017) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled product was supplied to hotels, restaurants and institutional customers in Alberta, New Brunswick, and Ontario.

Food Safety Recall: Hen Long Market Oriental Food Co. Ltd., Thai United Food Trading Ltd., & Three Dolphins Wholesale recall various brands of coconut products due to possible Salmonella contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a detailed list of recalled products, which were sold by retailers in Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba, and may have been distributed nationwide.

Food Safety Recall (Update): Boucherie Atlantique Ltée (Montreal, QC) recalls Saumon Fumé Maison / House Smoked Salmon (All best before dates up to and including 6 February 2018) because the production conditions do not ensure microbiological safety.

Allergy Alert (Ireland): Marks and Spencer recalls Marks & Spencer 2 Gluten Free Scotch Eggs (227g 2-pack; All date codes up to, and including 29 January 2018) due to undeclared gluten.

Allergy Alert (UK): Boots recalls Delicious Pineapple and Berry Compote (110g; All Use By dates up to and including ​30th January) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert (UK): Wikinger UK recalls Wikinger Hot Dogs (720g glass jar; various Lot codes and Best by dates) due to undeclared milk. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected lot codes.

Allergy Alert (UK): Community Foods recalls Natural Days Ground Rice Flour (500g; Lot 7231 C3 12:16; Best by  Feb 2019) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert (UK): Marks & Spencer recalls Marks & Spencer 2 Gluten Free Scotch Eggs (227g 2-pack; All date codes up to, and including 29 January 2018) due to undeclared gluten.

Food Safety Alert (UK): Citing “… systemic and widespread…” problems, the Food Standards Agency has taken action to stop any product from leaving sites operated by Russell Hume because of concerns about non-compliance with food hygiene regulations. The action comes on the heels of an unannounced audit at one site, which led to a broader investigation.

Food Safety Recall (Belgium): L&L Plaquette SPRL recalls various L&L Plaquette butters due to Listeria contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Geia Food A/S recalls Nice’n easy – Mushroom mix (400g; Lot #CR1701220134; Best by 5 / 11-2019), because the product was thawed and refrozen during transport.

Food Safety Recall (Sweden): Coop expands its earlier recall of Coop Frozen Corn (450g) to include all production dates after finding Listeria in a second batch of the product.

United States

Outbreak Alert: The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and other state and local health departments, is investigating a recent cluster of Salmonella ser. Montevideo infections.  Two cases have been identified in Illinois residents.  People in Illinois reported becoming ill on December 20 and 26, 2017.  Based on a review of produce, suppliers, and items consumed, investigators believe the most likely source of the infection is sprouts from multiple Jimmy John’s locations.

Allergy Alert: Perdue Foods LLC recalls CHEF REDI HOMESTYLE CHICKEN TENDER FRITTER, RTC – LARGE (10-lb. boxes containing two 5 lb. plastic bags; Case code 7374) due to undeclared egg. The recalled product was shipped to food service locations in Florida, Maryland and Washington D.C.

Allergy Alert: Sun Noodle recalls Tonkotsu Ramen (Lot code 3117332) due to undeclared sardines. The recalled product was shipped primarily to Asian food distributors in the New Jersey, Georgia, Illinois, Texas, and New York areas, and then on to retail stores.

Allergy Alert: Productos Pacheco Inc recalls various bakery products due to undeclared wheat, soy, eggs, milk and/or artificial colors. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were distributed in supermarkets in Puerto Rico from December 14, 2017 to January 3, 2018.

Allergy Alert: Wegmans recalls various ready-to-cook meat & seafood items due to undeclared soy lecithin or wheat. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Allergy Alert: Wienke’s Market (Algoma, WI) recalls all lines of jams and jellies due to undeclared butter.

Food Safety Recall: National Frozen Foods Corporation recalls “a limited selection of IQF Not-Ready-To Eat vegetable products” after receiving a report from a downstream customer that Listeria monocytogenes was found in a sample of one of the products. The recall was reported on the US Foods and Department of Defense Commissary Agency websites. Food Safety Recall: C J Health and Wellness dba Jayeon Herb & Acu (Buena Park, CA) recalls all liquid herbal teas (100 ml single- serving flexible pouches) due to possible Clostridium botulinum contamination. The recalled products were distributed to certain retailers in California.

Food Safety Recall: Boucherie Atlantique Ltée (Montreal, QC) recalls Homestyle Smoked Salmon (All lots sold up to and including January 22, 2018), because the item was produced under conditions that do not ensure product safety.

Allergy Alert (UK): Morrisons recalls Morrisons Eat Smart COUNTED Honey & Mustard Dressing (250 ml; Batch code L7306; Best by end November 2018) due to undeclared egg and mustard.

Food Safety Recall (Finland): SOK recalls Rainbow Sweet Corn (450g; Best before dates 06.01.2019 – 09.06.2019) due to excessive levels of Listeria bacteria.

Food Safety Recall (Ireland): Mars Ireland recalls Galaxy Smooth Milk bar (42g; Batch code 720B1SLO00; Best before 13.05.2018) and Maltesers Fun Size bag (Batch code 720A1SLO00; Best before 13.05.2018) due to possible presence of Salmonella.

Allergy Alert: Ottogi America, Inc. recalls Rice cake soup food (6.4 oz; Expiration date June 20th 2018) due to undeclared milk.

Pet Food Safety Recall: JustFoodForDogs recalls Beef & Russet Potato, Fish & Sweet Potato and Turducken dog food meals (all sizes; Best by 11/01/18 through 01/14/19) due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. No confirmed listeriosis has been reported but there have been reports of short-term symptoms in some dogs (diarrhea and vomiting). Lab tests confirm Listeria monocytogenes in green beans purchased from a restaurant supply distributor and used in the recalled foods.

Dietary Supplement Safety Recall: Arthri-D, LLC recalls Arthri-D Dietary Supplement (120 ct; Lot #1701-092; Manufactured March 2017) due to potential Salmonella contamination.

Dietary Supplement Safety Recall: Break Ventures/California Basics recalls Zero for Him Dietary Supplement (150 ct; Lot#1010-638; Expiration date November 2020) due to potential Salmonella contamination. The recalled product was distributed nationally through Amazon.

Canada

Allergy Alert: Industry recalls Te Chang Food Tofu Tranches – saveur de barbecue (350g; all lots; UPC 4 710189 810203) and Te Chang Food Satay Sauce Bean Curd (70g; all lots; UPC 4 710189 041201) due to undeclared  peanut and sesame. The recalled products were sold by retailers in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and Quebec, and may have been distributed nationally.

Allergy Alert: Alimentation Ste-Brigitte (Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval) recalls Sous-marin / Submarine (All product sold up to January 19, 2018) due to undeclared mustard seeds, soy and wheat.

Food Safety Recall: Fermes Morgan (Montcalm, QC) recalls Ragoût de canard / Duck stew (500 mL or 1 liter; All expiration dates up to and including December 5, 2018) due to inadequate processing.

Food Safety Recall (Update): Imperial Caviar & Seafood recalls Imperial Caviar & Seafood Whitefish Roe (50g; Lot #14017-01; Best before 29-MAI-2018; UPC 1 86866 90027 9) because the product may support growth of Clostridium botulinum. The recalled product was sold by retailers in Ontario and Quebec, and may have been distributed nationally.
