United States

Allergy Alert: Nassau Candy Distributors recalls H.E.B brand Pomegranate Infused Cranberries Covered in Dark Chocolate (8 oz. bags; UPC CODE 041220985883 and has a Best By Date of 02/27/18) due to undeclared almonds. The recalled product was distributed to H.E.B. in San Antonio, TX.

Allergy Alert: Orthodox Baking Co. (Belleville, N.J.) recalls Oberlander Gluten Free Brand “Chocolate Kokosh Cake” (16-oz pkg; Last sale date of April 30; UPC #43711 18093 7) due to undeclared almond paste.

Allergy Alert: Whole Foods Market® (Dedham, MA) recalls Organic Vanilla Yogurt Strawberries and Granola (single-serve; PLU number 25826; “Sell by” date between April 2, 2017 and April 11, 2017) due to undeclared almonds.

Food Safety Recall: The Smokehouse of NY (Mamaroneck, NY) recalls various Smoked fish products (Expiration dates from April 5th to April 19th) due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled items were distributed to markets, restaurants, and hotels in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Alabama, Minnesota, and Montana.

Food Safety Recall: Lakeside Foods, Inc. (Manitowoc, WI) recalls Season’s Choice Frozen Sweet Peas (net wt. 16 oz/454g; various lot numbers and best by dates) due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled product was distributed to only Aldi Stores in Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Florida, Wisconsin. Canada

Food Safety Recall: Ardent Mills recalls specific Best Before dates and lot codes of various varieties of Brodie, Creative Baker, Golden Temple and Robin Hood brands of flour due to potential contamination with E. coli O121. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products. The recalled flour products were sold through retailers across Canada. According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency recall notice, “There have been reported illnesses associated with flour; however, at this time, there have been no confirmed illnesses associated with the products identified in this Food Recall Warning.”

Food Safety Recall: N.S. Martin Processing recalls Wild Game Summer Sausage Moose & Pork and Wild Game Summer Sausage Venison & Pork (2 lb.; Lot 031417) due to contamination with E. coli O157:H7. The recalled sausages were distributed to consumers in Ontario.

Food Safety Recall Update: Central Smith Creamery expands its earlier recall of Wholesome Farms brand Sundae Cup products to include additional varieties, due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Please refer to the recall notice for a detailed list of affected products. The recalled Sundae Cup products were supplied to retailers in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec, and may have been distributed in other provinces.
Food Safety Recall: Supermarché Hawaii (Laval, QC) recalls Smoked Pork in Olive Oil (all lots up to and including March 31, 2017), because the product may have been produced in an unsafe manner.
Food Safety Recall: Boucherie d’Orient (Laval, QC), Marché Istanbul (Montreal, QC) and Supermarché Byblos inc. (Montreal, QC) recall Basturma (sold between Feb 28, 2017 and April 12, 2017, inclusive) due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Europe

Allergy Alert (Belgium): Rosenberg Import B.V. recalls Sweet Nougat with Berries (120g; lot #170307; Best before 03/2019) due to undeclared soy.

Allergy Alert (Denmark): Premier Is AS recalls various ice cream products due to traces of undeclared casein. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Allergy Alert (UK): Interlink Direct Ltd. recalls White Rabbit Creamy Candy (180g; Best before 21 February 2018) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall (Czech Republic): Ahold recalls Hamé Roasted Pork with Cabbage and Dumplings (400g; all date codes) after a foreign object is found in one package.

Allergy Alert: Chapis Spice & Tea (Los Angeles, CA) recalls various Chapis brand Bread Crumbs due to possible presence of undeclared wheat, milk, eggs, tree nuts or soybean. Please refer to the recall notice for a detailed list of affected products, all of which were distributed through retail stores in Los Angeles and adjacent cities in Los Angeles County.

Allergy Alert: Licata Enterprises (Huntington Beach, CA) recalls The Supreme One/Theravits 100 multiple vitamin (all lots) due to undeclared fish oils and other labelling issues. The recalled products were distributed in Southern California, Ohio and Pennsylvania through health food stores, and also sold in Wyoming, Virginia, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and Texas.

Allergy Alert: Ditos (Anchorage, Alaska) recalls Heart Plastic Platter Strawberries w/ Dip with Chocolate Frosting 32oz, and Heart Plastic Platter Mixed Fruit w/ Dip with Chocolate Frosting 40oz (Use by dates: 02/14/2017, 02/15/2017, 02/16/2017, 02/19/2017) due to undeclared soy and/or milk. The product was sold at seven Walmart stores in Debarr, Dimond, Eagle River, Fairbanks, Kenai, Midtown, and Wasilla.

Allergy Alert: Price Chopper recalls Market 32 Elegant Dessert Apple Crumb Tart (5.5 oz) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall: Biery Cheese Company recalls various specialty Longhorn Colby cheeses due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled products were distributed between November 11, 2016 and January 4, 2017 to distribution centers in Georgia, Indiana and Pennsylvania. Food Safety Recall: Saputo Inc. recalls certain Great Midwest brand Applewood Smoked Gouda cheese (Sell by MAY 22 17) and Dutchmark brand Pasteurized Processed Smoked Gouda cheese (Best when used by 11-18-17) that may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Food Safety Recall: Sargento Foods Inc. (Plymouth, WI) expands its earlier recall to include additional products and production dates due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes that originated from the facility of its supplier, Deutsch Kase Haus, LLC. Food Safety Recall: Dutch Valley Food Distributors, Schlabach Branch, recalls various cheeses and cheese-containing items due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected items.

Food Safety Recall: Hallmark Management Services, Inc. (Columbus, OH) expands its February 2, 2017 recall to include approximately 11.25 pounds of additional Chicken Tikka Masala that was produced without the benefit of inspection. Please refer to the recall notice for additional details.

Food Safety Recall: Papa John’s Salads & Produce recalls Colby Cheese Half Moon, Colby Jack Cheese Half Moon, Monterey Jack Cheese Half Moon and Pepper Jack Half Moon (Use by dates for all products: 1/10/17 through 5/9/17), because the products contain cheese that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled products were sold in Fry’s and Smith’s stores.

Food Safety Recall: Index Fresh recalls Index Fresh Avocados (UPC 76101-40154; Pack date 2/13/17; 4ct. bag) because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled avocados were sold in Ralphs stores.

Food Safety Recall: Meijer recalls Ham Sub on Artisan White Baguette (UPC 7-13733-76499-5; various expiration dates from 11/2/2016 through 12/30/2016) because the product contains cheese that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Food Safety Recall: GraceKennedy Foods recalls La Fe Papa Criolla Yellow Potatoes (14 oz; All date codes) due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled product was sold at Stop & Shop stores.

Food Safety Notice: The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has closed some shellfish harvesting beds in Beaufort County due to a sewer overflow.

Food Safety Notice: Oregon has closed recreational and commercial mussel harvesting from Cape Arago, south of Coos Bay, to the California border, due to elevated levels of paralytic shellfish toxins. Coastal scallops are not affected when only the adductor muscle is eaten.

Allergy Alert: Figues et Romarin (Blainville, QC) recalls Minestrone Soup (500 mL and 1 L sizes) due to undeclared wheat.

Europe

Allergy Alert (UK): Poundstretcher recalls Chocolate Crème Oreos (176g; pkg of 4; Best before April, May, July and August 2017) due to undeclared wheat and milk.

Allergy Alert (Northern Ireland): Heatons recalls a consignment of Toblerones (100g; Best before 8 September 2017; Batch code 00Y4062333) due to undeclared egg.

Food Safety Recall: Morrisons recalls Ready to Eat Peppered Beef Slices (150g; Use by 21 February 2017) because Listeria monocytogenes was found in the product.

  • Allergy Alert: King’s Delight (Gainesville, GA) recalls APPLEGATE® Naturals Gluten-Free Chicken Nuggets (8-oz cartons; Est. P-2617; Lot #210864; Best before 08/28/13; UPC 25317-00556), due to undeclared wheat. The recalled products were supplied to retail stores in Indiana, Maryland, Oregon and Washington.

Canada

  • Food Safety Recall: Fromagerie Bergeron Inc. recalls Fromagerie Bergeron Brins de Gouda Firm Unripened Cheese (100g, 180g, 230g, 260g, 300g, 500g & 2.5Kg sizes; Packaged 2013 JA 14; Best before 2013 JA 29; Lot 13-0065), Fromagerie Bergeron Le Populaire Unripened Firm Cheese (335g & 675g sizes; Prepared 2013JA14; Best before 2013AL14; Lot 13-65 or 13-66) and Fromagerie Bergeron Le Populaire Unripened Firm Cheese (2.2 (variable weight) Kg; Preparation date 13JA1465; 13AL14), due to the presence of metal fragments. The recalled products were supplied to retailers in Quebec, including Costco Canada.
  • Outbreak Alert Update: The Public Health Agency of Canada reports that an additional outbreak case of E. coli O157:H7 has been confirmed in New Brunswick, bringing the total number of cases to thirty, including 7 in New Brunswick, 10 in Nova Scotia and 13 in Ontario. The illnesses are most likely related to the consumption of shredded lettuce from California that was distributed to some KFC and KFC-Taco Bell restaurants by FreshPoint Inc. Thirteen of the 30 outbreak victims have been hospitalized, including one who developed hemolytic uremic syndrome.

  • Dietary Supplement Safety Alert (Hong Kong): The Department of Health warns the public not to purchase or consume Leisure 18 Slimming Coffee, as it was found to contain the undeclared and banned drug ingredients sibutramine and phenolphthalein.
