OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: FDA reports that the number of illnesses associated with consumption of morel mushrooms has increased from 30 to 41 cases. The pathogen or cause of illness has not yet been identified.

Allergy Alert: Bakkavor USA recalls Trader Joe’s Genova Pesto (Use by 05/27/2023 with time stamp between 06:28 – 07:07; UPC 0015 7353) due to undeclared milk and walnuts.

Food Safety Recall: Sun Global Imports & Exports Corp. recalls Red Chilli Powder – Extra Hot (25 kg; All units received in shipping container TTLU7963457) due to Bacillus cereus contamination. The recalled product was sold in Ontario.
Food Safety Recall: Co-op de St-Fabien (Marché Richelieu) (St-Fabien, QC) recalls Saumon atlantique fumé érable / Maple-smoked Atlantic salmon (Sold up to 9 May, 2023) due to absence of storage temperature instruction on label.
Europe
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (Denmark): The Statens Serum Institut reports that the outbreak of Salmonella Muenchen infections has increased from 16 to 19 cases, spread across five regions of the country. The source of the illnesses remains undetermined.
Allergy Alert (Belgium): Tofaha Food recalls Tofaha Bakkerij brand Brazeq koekjes / biscuits (400g & 650g; Lot 030323; All Best before dates from 03/03/2023 forward) due to undeclared pistachios.
Allergy Alert (Belgium): ILHAN FOODS SA recalls NEFIS brand Kéfir – « Raïbi » saveurs grenade, banane et pistache / Pomegranate, banana, and pistachio-flavoured kefirs (8 x 170g; All lots and Use-by dates) due to undeclared milk.

Public Health Alert (New Zealand): New Zealand Food Safety has issued a public health warning against collecting shellfish from the western half of the Firth of Thames.
