Canada

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (Calgary, Alberta): Alberta Health Services reports that the case count in an E. coli O157 outbreak linked to a commercial kitchen servicing daycare centres appears to have stabilized at 349 lab-confirmed cases, 29 of which are reported to be secondary cases. Six patients remain hospitalized with haemolytic uremic syndrome, including two who are on dialysis.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (Sweden): The Public Health Institute reports that the incidence of Campylobacter infections has stabilized at approximately 140/week, consistent with the levels reported during the same period last year.
