Allergy Alert: Hong Lee Trading Inc recalls CHAO CAFÉ VIETNAMESE INSTANT COFFEE MIXED 3 IN 1 (384g; Container code JUNE 06 2018) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert: Condies Foods recalls Veggie Cup (Item #40781; Use through 01/05/2018) due to undeclared milk and egg. The recalled product was supplied to Coremark Distribution centers, which distributed the product to stores in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Nebraska, Utah and Wyoming.

Allergy Alert: California Popsicle, Inc. (dba Polly Ann Ice Cream) recalls various Ice Bars due to undeclared milk. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: Crescent City Meats recalls TASSO CAJUN SPICY HAM READY TO EAT (5-lb vacuum packs; Lots 1631317, 1635517, and 1635217 or 35217) due to underprocessing. The recalled product was distributed for institutional use in the New Orleans metropolitan area.

Food Safety Recall: Fieldbrook Foods Corporation recalls Tops brand Orange Cream Bars (12-ct. retail box; Best by December 18, 2018) and Purple Cow Orange Cream Bars (12-ct. retail box; Best by November 30, 2018) due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Food Safety Recall: Hempler Foods Group, LLC recalls HEMPLER’S FAMILY CLASSIC PEPPERONI NATURAL SMOKE FLAVORING ADDED (2.25-lb. vacuum-packed packages; Packed on 10/10/2017; Case code 59716) due to possible extraneous material (metal) contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Evershing International Trading Company recalls Coconut Tree Brand Frozen Shredded Coconut (16-oz plastic bags: Lot SE07A1; UPC 05216-44081) due to potential Salmonella contamination.

Canada

Allergy Alert: Healthy Body Services recalls Soy Complete brand Plant-based protein shake – vanilla (544g; Product code 544-LOT# ANFY12117 EXP: MAY 2019 REG#1562 03/05/2017; UPC 6 65553 21748 2) due to undeclared milk. The recalled product was distributed to retailers nationwide.

Food Safety Recall (Update): Imperial Caviar & Seafood recalls VIP Caviar Club Salmon Roe and Imperial Caviar and Seafood Whitefish Roe due to because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. Please refer to the recall notice for complete details of the affected products, which were distributed to retailers in Ontario and Quebec.

Food Safety Recall: Costco Wholesale Canada Ltd. recalls Kirkland Signature brand All Butter Croissants from certain stores in Ontario due to possible presence of plastic. Please refer to the recall notice for specifics on the affected products and a list of stores.

Food Safety Recall: Loblaw Companies Limited recalls PC brand Sweet Chipotle Prepared Mustard (180 mL; Product code 2018 AL 12; UPC 0 60383 01392 9) due to possible presence of glass. The recalled product was distributed in retail stores nationwide.

Food Safety Recall: Old Country Sausage recalls Old Country Sausage Shop brand Grass Fed Bison Pepperoni Sticks (163g; Product code LYKFR Best Before Date January 24, 2018) due to pieces of metal. The recalled product was distributed to retail stores in Alberta.

United States

Outbreak Alert: The CDC is investigating an outbreak of 17 E. coli O157:H7 infections in 13 states: California (3), Connecticut (2), Illinois (1), Indiana (1), Michigan (1), Nebraska (1), New Hampshire (2), New York (1), Ohio (1), Pennsylvania (1), Virginia (1), Vermont (1) and Washington (1). Tests are underway to determine whether or not these illnesses are related to a similar outbreak in Canada (see below).

Allergy Alert: New Seasons Market recalls New Seasons Market Macaroni and Cheese (UPC codes 252089, 203999, 252090, 706991; Sell by dates up to Jan 02, 2018) due to undeclared egg. The recalled products were sold in New Seasons Market locations in  Oregon, Washington and Northern California.

Allergy Alert: Daisy’s Bakery Inc. (Clifton, NJ) recalls Gourmet Concha (4-oz. pkg; Lot Nos. 441, 442, 443, 444, 445, 446, 447, 448, 449, 450, 451, 452, 453, 454, 455, 456, 457, 458, 459, 460, 461, 462, 463, 464, 465, 466, 467, 468, 469, 470 and 471) due to undeclared milk. The recalled products were sold New York, New Jersey, Florida, Illinois and North Carolina in retail stores through direct delivery.

Food Safety Recall: T. Marzetti Company recalls various Frozen Biscuit Dough products (All Best by dates) due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were distributed in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.

Food Safety Recall: Swift Beef Company recalls approximately 4,702 pounds of beef stew product that may be contaminated with plastic and metal. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were shipped to HEB retail stores in Texas.

Food Safety Recall: Osamu Corporation recalls Tuna Fillet Saku (All lots and pack sizes; Product of Indonesia) due to elevated mercury levels. The recalled product was distributed to Defense Commissary Agency stores.

Canada

Outbreak Alert (Update): PHAC reports 41 cases of E. coli O157:H7 in Ontario (8), Quebec (14), New Brunswick (5), Nova Scotia (1), and Newfoundland and Labrador (13). The outbreak appears to be associated with consumption of Romaine lettuce; however, no specific brand or source of lettuce has yet been identified. Seventeen of the outbreak victims required hospitalization, and one person has died. Victims range in age between 3 and 85 years; 73% are female. The outbreak may also be linked to cases of E. coli O157:H7 illness under investigation in the USA (see above).

Food Safety Recall (Czech Republic): CEDES LOGISTIK s.r.o. recalls AMILK infant nutrition formula (2 x 300g; Batch & Expiry date: 0000053236 (DMT: 27.02.2019), 0000073337 (DMT: 03.10.2019), 0000053059 (DMT: 15.02.2019), 0000055012 (DMT: : 06.04.2019), 0000067902 (DMT: 07.08.2019); Product of France) due to suspected Salmonella contamination.

Food Safety Recall (Germany): Könecke Fleischwarenfabrikation GmbH recalls heated, ready-to-eat chicken breast fillets, mini chicken steak, chicken wings and chicken snacks due to possible Listeria contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a detailed list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall (Luxembourg): Könecke Fleischwarenfabrikation GmbH recalls Gutfried Mini Hahnchensteak (160 gr; Best before 6/1/2018; Product of Germany) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled product was sold in Supermarchés Cactus outlets.

Food Safety Recall (Israel): Natalie Plus Ltd. recalls Red-headed Strip Cake (600g; Best before Jan. 18, 2018) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Nodine’s Smokehouse, Inc. recalls Smoked Salmon (1.5 lb and 8 oz packages; lot numbers 40173 and 33173) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled product was sold nationwide in retail stores and through mail orders.

Food Safety Recall: Fresh Pak Inc. recalls specific lots of Sliced Apples due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Allergy Alert: Farm Boy recalls Farm Boy brand Milk Chocolate Covered Double Roasted Almonds (275g; Best Before November 21, 2018; UPC 8 08912 00852 3) due to undeclared peanuts. The recalled product was distributed to retailers in Ontario.

Outbreak Alert/Food Safety Recall (UK): Sainsbury’s recalls Taste the Difference 4 pack Aberdeen Angus British Beef Quarter Pounders, Frozen (454g; Best before July 2018, September 2018 and October 2018) because a small number of customers have become unwell with E. coli O157 after consuming the product.

Allergy Alert (Finland): Lidl Suomi Ky recalls Isokari Lohipyörykän (Expiration February 2, 2018) due to undeclared allergy information.

Food Safety Recall (Belgium): Aldi recalls Excellence brand Amuse-gueules frais (240g; Best before 27/12/2017 & 28/12/2017; Lot #DIV318V0730 & DIV318V0731) due to Listeria contamination.

Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Hilton Foods A/S recalls Slagterens Simremad brand pork jaws (Expiration dates 12.12.2017 and 13.12.2017) due to Salmonella contamination.
