Canada

Allergy Alert: Épicerie Claude Mathieu (Saint-Benjamin, QC) recalls Cretons au porc maison (Variable portion sizes; All product sold up to and including May 11, 2018; UPC 0260599003473) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall: Aliments Eduardo (Montreal, QC) recalls all products manufactured between December 27, 2017 and May 10, 2018, as the items were not manufactured under conditions that would assure they were safe for human consumption.

Food Safety Recall: Four Seasons Marketplace Inc. recalls Four Seasons Marketplace brand Apple Cider Smoked Salmon (Best before 2018MA23 and 2018MA29; UPC starts with 0204051) and Four Seasons Marketplace brand Vodka Smoked Salmon (Best before 2018MA 23; UPC starts with 0204028) because the products may permit growth of Clostridium botulinum. The recalled items were distributed to retailers in Ontario.

Food Safety Recall: Les Dépendances recalls Haute Montagne brand Reblochon de Savoie (AOP) au lait cru raw milk cheese (450-550g; All lots starting with 8CR; UPC 8 31014 00139 0) due to E. coli O26 contamination. Although no illnesses have been reported in Canada, there have been reports of illnesses in France associated with consumption of this product.

Food Safety Recall: Whole Foods Market recalls Whole Foods Market brand Reblochon Cheese “raw cow cheese” (variable package sizes; All “Packed On” dates from March 20, 2018 up to and including May 15, 2018; UPC starts with 0293524) due to E. coli O26 contamination. Although no illnesses have been reported in Canada, there have been reports of illnesses in France associated with consumption of this product.

Europe

Outbreak Alert/Food Safety Recalls (France): The Ministry of Health has confirmed seven severe cases of E. coli O26 illnesses in young children associated with consumption of a raw milk cheese manufactured in Cruseilles (Haute-Savoie) by Chabert. As a precaution, the company has recalled all production lots of Fromage AOP reblochon laitier au lait cru manufactured in its Cruseilles facility. Cheese manufactured in other production plants owned by Chabert are not affected by this recall. Please refer to the information posted on the government site for additional details. The recalled products were sold in France and exported to all of the following countries: Andorra, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Mali, Mauritius, Netherlands, Portugal, Roumania, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Allergy Alert (Ireland): Lidl Ireland recalls Harvest Basket Filled Potato Croquettes – Spinach & Mozarella and Harvest Basket Filled Potato Croquettes – Cream Cheese & Herbs (600g; All dates) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall (Czech Republic): IBK Trade s.r.o. recalls Fíky natural v balení / Figs (500g; Best before 31. 12. 2018; Product of Greece) due to elevated aflatoxin levels.

United States

Outbreak Alert Update: CDC reports 12 more ill people from five states in the Salmonella Braenderup outbreak associated with shell eggs from Rose Acre Farms’ Hyde County Farm. There have been a total of 35 illnesses to date reported from 9 states. Eleven of the 35 victims were hospitalized.

Allergy Alert: Sugarfina, Inc. recalls white-chocolate coated Sugar Cookies (3.5 oz cube or 2.5-lb plastic bag) due to undeclared egg. The recalled product was sold in Sugarfina, Inc. retail stores throughout the U.S., and select Nordstrom department stores in Oregon, Arizona, California, Texas, Illinois,Washington, and other boutique retail stores.

Canada

Outbreak Alert: Public Health Agency of Canada has received confirmed reports of six cases of E. coli O157:H7 infections in Canada that are linked genetically to the current US outbreak. FDA and CDC have tied this outbreak to consumption of romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona growing region.

Allergy Alert: PK Trading Inc. recalls Jongga brand Kimchi Ramen dried soup mix (140g; All batch codes; UPC 8 801052 043661) due to undeclared milk. The recalled product was supplied to retailers in Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

Allergy Alert (France): Purasana recalls Chlorella raw powder bio superfood (Lot #OCH-DF-160330/10) due to undeclared sulfites.

Allergy Alert (France): Lotte recalls Lotte Choco Pie (Lot THT 19-12-2018; Best before 19/12/2018) due to undeclared almonds.

Outbreak Alert Update: North Dakota Department of Health reports its first case of E. coli O157:H7 illness linked to consumption of romaine lettuce. The outbreak has now spread to 26 states.

Food Safety Recall: Eddy Packing Co., Inc. recalls approximately 49,558 pounds of smoked sausage products due to foreign matter (hard plastic pieces) contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: Texas All Grass-Fed recalls approximately 2,300 whole frozen chickens because of processing issues that may have permitted the growth of Salmonella or other bacteria. Please refer to the recall notice for additional product and distribution information.

Dietary Supplement Safety Recall: Badger Botanicals, LLC recalls Green Suma, Red Suma, Green Hulu 2, and Red Hulu 2 kratom dietary supplements (250g pouches) due to potential Salmonella contamination. The recalled products were sold directly to consumers via the company website from January 1st, 2018 to April l 12th, 2018.
