Outbreak/Illness Investigations

USA (Update): CDC and FDA report 39 confirmed and suspected cases of infant botulism linked to consumption of ByHeart powdered infant formula. Illnesses have been reported in 18 states. All 39 infants were hospitalized.

USA: FDA is investigating a new outbreak of 44 confirmed Salmonella Saintpaul infections linked to a not yet identified food product.

Outbreak/Illness Investigations

CANADA (Update): The Public Health Agency of Canada and the CFIA continue to investigate an outbreak of Salmonella illnesses that has now risen to 155 confirmed cases in 6 provinces. Twenty-four people have been hospitalized. The cases are linked to consumption of contaminated pistachios and pistachio-containing products contaminated with any one of twelve different Salmonella serotypes. The CFIA has put in place temporary import restrictions, along with new regulatory requirements and the Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence conditions for pistachios and pistachio-containing products imported from Iran.

DENMARK: The Statens Serum Institut reports an increase in Campylobacter cases in 2025 compared to recent years. Since July 2025, two outbreaks of Campylobacter jejuni sequence type 49 and 52 have been associated with consumption of Danish chicken.
