Outbreak/Illness Investigations

UNITED KINGDOM UPDATE: The UK Health Security Agency continues to track three separate clusters of Salmonella Enteritidis infections totaling 474 confirmed cases. Two deaths have been reported. Investigations to date point to consumption of imported eggs as the source of the outbreak clusters.

USA UPDATE: CDC continues to investigate 10 multistate outbreaks of Salmonella illnesses totalling 1,061 confirmed cases in 46 states and Puerto Rico. Two people have died and 234 has been hospitalized. Almost a quarter of the sick people in these outbreaks are children under 5 years old. The outbreaks are linked to contact with backyard poultry.

USA UPDATE: CDC reports that its investigation into the infant botulism outbreak linked to Nara Organics Whole Milk Organic Powdered Infant Formula has ended. The FDA continues to investigate the root cause of the contamination that led to the outbreak.

United States

Food Safety Recall: UPSTATE NIAGARA COOPERATIVE recalls Mehadrin Chocolate Leben (6 oz; Lot code 101426 L5 2W; Use by 10/14/26) because the product may have been inadequately pasteurized.

Food Safety Recall: Horizon Organic Dairy, LLC recalls Horizon Organic ORG ASEP CHOC MILK 1% (8 oz; Best by 28 JAN 2027, 30 JAN 2027, 31 JAN 2027, 01 FEB 2027, 02 FEB 2027, and 03 FEB 2027) due to potential product spoilage.

Food Safety Recall: Hodo Inc. recalls hodo CHILI CRISP LIGHTLY FRIED TOFU (8 oz; Multiple lot codes and Use by dates) due to potential chemical contamination (ink).

Food Safety Recall: Shanghai Ravioli Corporation recalls approximately 24,900 pounds of frozen, not ready-to-eat (NRTE) Buffalo chicken products because the items were produced without benefit of federal inspection.

Canada

Food Safety Recall: Allo Simonne Inc. recalls Allo simonne brand Pistachio Matcha Spread (220g; Batch code 12-104-26; Best before 10/27; UPC 6 28437 31056 1) and Allo simonne brand Almond Cardamom Spread (220g; Batch code 7-104-26; Best before 10/27; UPC 6 28437 31007 3) due to foreign matter contamination (pieces of glass).

Ireland and United Kingdom

Food Safety Recall (Ireland): Macroom Buffalo Cheese Products Ltd. recalls Macroom Buffalo Cheese Mozzarella (125g; Use by 07/09/2026), Macroom Buffalo Cheese Bocconcini (160g; Use by 07/09/2026), and Macroom Buffalo Cheese Burrata (150g; Use by 07/09/2026) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Recall (UK-Northern Ireland only): Macroom Buffalo Cheese Products recalls Macroom Buffalo Cheese Mozzarella (125g; Use by 07 September 2026) and Macroom Buffalo Cheese Bocconcini (160g; Use by 07 September 2026) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
