Outbreak/Illness Investigations
USA (Update): CDC reports that an outbreak of Salmonella Bovismorbificans infections has grown to 32 cases in 6 states. Three of the 32 outbreak victims have been hospitalized. The outbreak has been linked to broccoli sprouts produced by Evergreen Fresh Sprouts.
USA (Update): CDC issues final update for the 2026 Salmonella outbreak linked to contact with backyard poultry. A total of 1,253 outbreak cases, including 256 hospitalizations were reported by 46 states and Puerto Rico. Two of the outbreak victims died. The outbreak comprised seven serotypes of Salmonella, began on January 20, 2026, and ended on August 30th.

Allergy Alert: Deano’s Pasta recalls Pear and Pecorino Triangoli Ravioli (1 lb; Lot codes 090126126, 082526126,081826126, and 073126126; sold between 8/10/26 and 9/22/26) due to undeclared lobster.
Food Safety Recall: Galil Importing Corp recalls Lior Cinnamon Ground Seasoning (90g; Lot code GAP11304; UPC 794711005484) due to elevated lead.

Food Safety Recall (UK): World of Sweets recalls Alyan Dubai Style Chocolate Truffles (120g; Product code 319456; All Best before dates) and Alyan Dubai Style Crunchy Knafeh and Pistachio Milk Chocolate (100g; Product code 318591; All Best before dates) due to Salmonella contamination.
