OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: One person is dead and 17 have been hospitalized in the outbreak of Salmonella illnesses linked to consumption of Malichita and Rudy brands of cantaloupes imported from Mexico according to the PHAC. Sixty-three lab-confirmed cases have been reported from five provinces. Three different Salmonella serotypes are associated with this outbreak.

FOOD SAFETY ALERT (UK): The Food Standards Agency is urging people not to eat a chocolate bar called ‘Cali-Gold’, which has been available for sale at Mansfield Market in Nottinghamshire. The warning follows police reports of illness in the Nottinghamshire area after consuming these products. One person has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Allergy Alert (France): CHANNEL SEA FOOD recalls MISS FROGGY brand CUISSES DE GRENOUILLE CONGELEES / Frozen frog legs (1 kg; Lot VN815VI082; Best before 31/12/2025) due to undeclared sulphites.
