Canada

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: The Public Health Agency of Canada reports 310 cases of Cyclospora illnesses of unknown origin in Alberta (1), British Columbia (3), Newfoundland and Labrador (3), Ontario (252) and Québec (51). Thirteen people have been hospitalized. The illnesses are not related to travel.

Allergy Alert (UK): Unisnacks Europe Limited recalls Lotte Pepero Snowy Almond (32g; Best before 01 May 2023 and 02 May 2023) due to undeclared peanuts.

Food Safety Recall (Austria): HOFER KG recalls GOOD Choice Kartoffelsalat mit Öl und Essig / Potato salad with oil and vinegar (1 kg; Best before September 21, 2022) due to foreign matter contamination (glass splinters).

Allergy Alert (Belgium): Carrefour recalls Carrefour brand Dessert Fruits Rouges / Red fruit dessert (95g; Lot 280922; Use by 28/09/2022) and Carrefour brand Dessert mangue – passion / Mango-passionfruit dessert (95g; 200922; Use by 20/09/2022) due to undeclared nuts.

Food Safety Recall (Belgium): AFSCA orders recall of Calvé brand Pindasaus Kruidig / Spicy peanut sauce (350g; Best before 15/05/2023) and Calvé brand Pindasaus Mild / Mild peanut sauce (350g & 650g; Best before 15/05/2023) due to foreign matter contamination (pieces of rubber).

Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Rynkeby Foods A/S recalls Brämhults Presset Æblemost / Pressed Apple Must (850 ml; Best before 14.10.2022) due to excessive level of patulin.
