United States

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: FDA, CDC and the Southern Nevada Health District are investigating an outbreak of five cases of non-viral hepatitis in infants and children, and five additional instances of less severe illnesses. The five cases occurred in November 2020 and appear to be linked to ingestion of Real Water brand Alkaline Water. FDA is advising the public to not drink, cook with, sell, or serve “Real Water” alkaline water.

Pet Food Safety Recall Update: Bravo Packing, Inc. expands its previously announced recall to include all pet food and bones in all package sizes due to the potential for Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall was expanded after an inspection by FDA determined that conditions in the production plant could lead to cross-contamination. Canada

Food Safety Alert: CFIA advises the public not to consume certain apricot kernel products packed by Wah Yan Tong, due to potential cyanide poisoning. Please refer to the CFIA notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: William J. Walter Saucissier L’Assomption recalls Sauce à spaghetti / Spaghetti sauce (1 L; Sold up to 16 March 2021) due lack of mention on the label that the product must be stored under refrigeration.

Food Safety Recall: Gibiers Canabec inc. recalls several terrine products that were manufactured and packaged under conditions that might render the food unsafe to consume. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Allergy Alert (Belgium): Jumbo Belgique recalls UNOX Good Pasta Bolognese (68g; All lot codes and dates) due to undeclared egg.

Allergy Alert (Belgium): Albert Heijn recalls UNOX Good Pasta Bolognese (68g; All lot codes and dates) due to undeclared egg.

Allergy Alert (Ireland): FSAI warns consumers that SuperValu Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix (285g; 1st March 2022) contains undeclared mustard.

Allergy Alert Update (UK): Yekta Foods recalls various products due to undeclared celery, mustard, pistachio (nuts), almonds (nuts), cashew (nuts), sesame and wheat (gluten). Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall (Belgium): Het Dischhof recalls Het Keiems Bloempje cheese (~330g; Lot #506; Best before 07/04/2021) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Palæo Foods ApS recalls Smoothie Power Up – Jordbær Blåbær / Strawberry Blueberry smoothie (330 ml; Best before 27 / 3-21, 5 / 4-21, 12 / 4-21) because the raw materials are not heat-treated.

Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Lundberg Nordic ApS recalls Smoothie Plus – Jordbær Æble Blåbær / Strawberry Apple Blueberry smoothie (330 ml; Best before 14.03.2021 and 04.04.21) because the raw materials are not heat-treated.

Food Safety Recall (France): La Salaison du Mont Pilat recalls Salaisonniers du Pilat brand Le Jésus sausage (Lot #2034503; Use by 09/04/2021) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
