OUTBREAK ALERT: CDC reports 68 confirmed cases of Salmonella Enteritidis infections in 9 states. Fourteen people have been hospitalized. The infections have been linked to consumption of peaches supplied by Prima® Wawona of Fresno, California. Please see recall information, below.

Allergy Alert: Whole Foods Market recalls Vegan Vanilla Cake (whole, 6-inch cakes; sell-by date through August 24, 2020) due to undecalred soy.

Allergy Alert: Superior Nut Company recalls Southern Grove Mixed Nuts Less than 50% Peanuts (14.75 oz. cans; Lot codes 0MR105975; 0MR106051; 0MR106280; 0MR106320) due to undeclared Brazil nuts.

Allergy Alert: Oberto Snacks Inc. recalls CATTLEMAN’S CUT SMOKED SAUSAGES OLD FASHIONED (3-oz pkg; BEST BY 21MAR2021 22; Time range between 18:35 to 19:15) due to undeclared soy.

Allergy Alert: Frito-Lay recalls Ruffles Original Potato Chips (1 1/2 oz. bags; Guaranteed fresh date of 22 SEP 2020; Manufacturing code 34631762) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall: Prima® Wawona of Fresno, California recalls all of its bulk/loose peaches distributed and sold from June 1 through August 3 and its bagged Wawona and Wawona Organic peaches distributed and sold from June 1 through August 19th due to potential Salmonella contamination. Wawona peaches have been linked to an outbreak of 68 Salmonella Enteritidis infections in 9 states. Canada

OUTBREAK ALERT UPDATE: PHAC reports 379 confirmed cases of Salmonella Newport infections in British Columbia (100), Alberta (207), Saskatchewan (26), Manitoba (24), Ontario (8), Quebec (13) and Prince Edward Island (1). The outbreak is linked to imported onions from Thomson International, Inc. of Bakersfield, CA.

Allergy Alert: Uncle T Foods Inc. recalls Pengsheng brand Oil Preserved Cabbage Leaf (450g; All lot codes; UPC 6 922406 898989) due to undeclared sesame.

Food Safety Recall: Umami Ramen recalls several varieties of bouillon à ramen / ramen bouillon (500 ml; Sold up to and including 21 August 2020), because the products were not maintained under constant refrigeration and lack required labeling for refrigerated storage. The recalled products were distributed to AZ, AL, CA, CO CT, DC, DE, FL GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI and WY through mail order or direct delivery.

Food Safety Recall: Jennie-O Turkey Store Sales, Inc. recalls approximately 164,210 pounds of raw ground turkey products that may be contaminated with Salmonella Reading. Raw turkey product from this company has been linked to a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Reading illnesses. The recalled products were shipped to retail locations nationwide.
