Public Health Alert: The Québec Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAC) advises the public not to consume Ducktrap River of Maine brand Cold smoked atlantic salmon trim and Smoked wild sockeye salmon trim (454g) unless they are certain that the products were stored frozen. The products, which lack a mandatory “store frozen” instruction on their label, were sold at multiple retailers in the province of Québec.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: CDCreports sixteen cases of Listeria monocytogenes in six states. One person has died and thirteen have been hospitalized. The outbreak has been linked to deli meat and cheese purchased at deli counters in multiple states. CDC advises people at higher risk of severe Listeria illness to not eat meat or cheese from any deli counter, unless it is reheated to an internal temperature of 165°F or until steaming hot.
Allergy Alert: Groupe Adonis inc. recalls Soupe champignon / Mushroom soup and Soupe creme brocoli / Cream of broccoli soup (Sold up to 7 November 2022) due to undeclared soy, and recalls Soupe lentille jaune / Yellow lentil soup (Sold up to 7 November 2022) in addition to the previously mentioned soups due to absence of mandatory storage temperature labeling.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (Denmark): The Statens Serum Institut has identified fish cakes (fish meatballs) from Jeka Fish as the source of an outbreak of seven cases of Listeria monocytogenes since mid-August. Please refer to the recall notice, below.
