Europe

OUTBREAK ALERT (DENMARK): Danish Veterinary and Food Administration, DTU The Danish Food Institute and the National Serum Institute are investigating a Campylobacter outbreak on the island of Bornholm. Fifty-four people aged 9 months to 97 years have tested positive so far. Authorities suspect a locally produced ready-to-eat food may be behind the outbreak, but have not yet identified the source.

OUTBREAK ALERT: CDC is investigating a 28-state outbreak of Salmonella Hadar illnesses linked to contact with backyard chicks and ducklings. The agency reports 97 confirmed cases, with 17 people hospitalized.
