Allergy Alert: Schnucks Bakery recalls Schnucks Bakery Deluxe Petite Cake Chocolate Iced Yellow German Chocolate Cake (Sell by 8/12/17 – 8/14/17; UPC 41318 31168) due to undeclared pecans.

Allergy Alert: Taylor Farms Retail, Inc. (Salinas, CA) recalls Taylor Farms Creamy Homestyle Coleslaw Kits (Best If Used By 08-16-17; Lot code TFRS212A07C) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert: Price Chopper recalls Egg Salad (Sold from Deli; Scale code beginning 267074) due to undeclared wheat.

Allergy Alert: Wegmans recalls multiple varieties of Wegmans Crostatas due to undeclared soy. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: Michele’s Granola recalls Michele’s Toasted Muesli (16 oz; Best by 7/31/17, 8/7/17, 8/14/17,8/21/17, 8/28/17, 9/5/17, 9/12/17; UPC 79357332101) due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled product was sold at Wegmans.

Food Safety Recall: The Comfy Cow recalls Banana Puddin Y’all, Chocolate Squared2, Cookies and Cream, Cow Trax, Double Fold Vanilla, Georgia Butter Pecan, Intense Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel, and Strawberry Fields Forever Ice Creams, due to possible E. coli contamination and/or high coliform counts. Some of the recalled products were sold in Kroger stores located in Greater Louisville area (including Indiana) and Lexington, Kentucky.

Food Safety Recall: Good Food Concepts, LLC recalls approximately 1,290 pounds of raw intact and non-intact beef due to possible E. coli O26 contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a detailed list of affected products, which were supplied to shipped to retail locations, wholesale locations, and restaurants in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Food Safety Recall: Freshtex Produce LLC recalls Valery brand Maradol papayas (grown and packed by Carica de Campeche; shipped to Illinois July 10 to July 13, 2017) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled Valery papayas were grown and packed by the same grower implicated in an on-going outbreak of Salmonella Kiambu and Salmonella Thompson infections.

Canada

Allergy Alert: Texas Legend Foods recalls Silver Star Chipotle Queso Dip (16-oz. jars; Lots  060AFV7A, 072AFV7A, 072AFV7B, 090AFV7A, 111AFV7A; UPC 819993005394) due to undeclared cheese, milk and egg. The recalled product was distributed nationwide in retail stores.

Allergy Alert: Custom Culinary, Inc. recalls Molly’s Kitchen Soup Base Paste Beef Base Paste – NO MSG Added ( 6-lb. corrugate case; lot code of 72505 239497 or 72505 239498) and Molly’s Kitchen Chicken Base Paste / 301817 / No MSG Added (1-lb. white plastic jars; lot code of 72505 239497 or 72505 239498) due to undeclared soy and the possibility of mislabeled jars (jars labeled as chicken may contain beef). The recalled products were shipped to food service distributors nationwide.

Allergy Alert: Sunneen Health Foods recalls Whole Foods Market PB&J parfaits (8-oz. containers; All Best by dates before 7/13/2017; UPC 636910500448) due to undeclared soy, almonds and coconut. The recalled products were sold at five Whole Foods Market stores in New York and New Jersey.

Allergy Alert: Coborn’s, Inc. recalls Gluten Free Fudge Brownies (Expiration July 10, 2017; UPC 7-33147-20522-8), as some of the packages may contain Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Bars and, consequently, contain undeclared milk. The recalled products were distributed and sold at Coborn’s and Cash Wise stores in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, as well as Marketplace Foods stores in Wisconsin, and Coborn’s Delivers in the Twin Cities Metro area.

Allergy Alert: Biohealth Nutrition recalls Precision Blend Cookies & Cream (2-lb and 4-lb white plastic canisters; all lot codes) due to undeclared wheat.

Food Safety Recall: Marathon Enterprises Inc. recalls Hot Dog Products due to potential contamination with bone fragments. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were shipped to retail and institutional locations nationwide.

Food Safety Recall: M&L Farms, LLC recalls approximately 383 beef, goat, and lamb carcasses with offal that were produced with a non- potable water supply that failed to meet the Ohio Department of Health’s requirements in the Ohio Administrative Code for a private water system. Food Safety Recall: Sea World Fisheries Ltd. recalls Sea World Fisheries brand Farmed Live Shell Oyster (5 doz; Harvest date JUL 01, 2017; Process date JUL 03, 2017; Harvest area 14-8, Denman Island, BC; Lot # OY-9437) due to Vibrio parahaemolyticus. The recalled product was supplied to hotels, restaurants, institutional customers and retailers in British Columbia and Ontario.

Food Safety Recall (Update): Industry recalls various St.-Laurent, Beurre du Lac, Perron and Nutrinor butters due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Please refer to the updated recall notice for details of the affected products, which were supplied to retailers in Quebec.

Food Safety Recall/Outbreak Alert: Loblaw Companies Limited recalls President’s Choice Pub Recipe Chicken Nuggets – Uncooked Breaded Cutlettes (800g; Product code 2018 MR 15; UPC 0 60383 13171 5) due to Salmonella contamination. Twelve cases of Salmonella Enteritidis infection have been associated with consumption of the recalled product.

Allergy Alert (UK): The Great Northern Sandwich Co recalls Spar Daily Deli Peppered Ham & Egg Sandwiches (Use by 12 July 2017) due to undeclared soya and sulphites.

Allergy Alert (UK): E H Booths recalls Booths Fruit Teacakes (4-pack; Best before 18 July 2017; Batch code 404221) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Danish Bottling Company A/S recalls Bottled drinking water produced for Nemlig.Com (0.5 liter; Best before 19/05-2019) due to elevated bacteria counts and presence of coliform bacteria.

Allergy Alert: Whole Foods Market recalls Our Chef’s Own Spinach Orzo Salad (PLU 61159; Sold on date February 24 or before) due to undeclared pine nuts. The recalled salads were sold in Whole Foods Market stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine and Rhode Island.

Allergy Alert: Meijer recalls pre-made Caesar salad kits (Sell by March 3, 2017), because the salads were mislabeled as Greek Salads. The mislabeled salads contain packaged croutons, which is an undeclared wheat allergen not included on the Greek salad kit label.

Allergy Alert: Whole Foods Market stores in Arlington, MA and Brookline, MA are issuing an allergy alert to recall Lonestar Bakeries Cream Cheese King Cakes sold between February 4 and February 26, due to an in-store labeling error.

Food Safety Recall: Wayne Farms, LLC (Decatur, AL) recalls Waffle Breaded Bites: Fully Cooked Breaded White Meat Chicken Bites (5-lb clear plastic bags, 2/case; Est. No. P-20214; packaged Dec. 1, 13 and 30, 2016) due to a potential processing defect, resulting in the potential survival of bacterial pathogens in the products. The recalled products were shipped to Food Lion stores in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

Food Safety Recall: Gourmet Classic Salads, Inc. (Lake Wall, FL) recalls ready-to-eat meat and poultry products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes. ready-to-eat salad, wrap and snack items were produced and packaged from Jan. 30, 2017 through Feb. 24, 2017. Food Safety Recall: Yoke’s Fresh Market recalls Colby Jk Longhorn Cheese and Colby Longhorn Cheese (16 oz; sold between 09/01/16 and 01/27/17 in Yoke’s Fresh Market stores in Washington and Idaho under the Yoke’s Fresh Market private label) due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Food Safety Recall: Manzana Products Co., Inc. recalls Trader Joe’s All Natural Unsweetened Apple Sauce (all codes through DEC 16, 2018), Trader Joe’s Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce (All codes through OCT 06, 2018) and Trader Joe’s First Crush Unsweetened Gravenstein Apple Sauce (all codes through AUG 08, 2018) because the company received consumer reports of glass found in some of the products.

Food Safety Recall: ALDI Inc., in cooperation with Versa Marketing, recalls Fusia Szechuan Stir Fry (21-oz bag; Best by 06/14/18) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Alert: The Hawaii State Department of Health (DOH) has ordered Meadow Gold Dairies to stop its distribution and sale of two-percent reduced fat milk. DOH issued a Cease and Desist Order to the company today after laboratory results from routine milk samples exceeded standard limits for Coliform bacteria. Samples of two-percent reduced fat milk taken from Meadow Gold Dairies on Jan. 19, Feb. 6 and Feb. 22, 2017 revealed coliform counds in excess of 150/ml, 130/ml and in excess of 150/ml, respectively. The maximum allowed limit for coliforms in pasteurized milk is 10/ml.

Canada

E. coli Outbreak Update: The Public Health Agency of Canada has received reports of four additional cases of E. coli O121 illnesses. The outbreak, the source of which has not been identified, now comprises 20 confirmed cases of E. coli O121 with a matching genetic fingerprint, reported in British Columbia (8), Saskatchewan (4), Alberta (3) and Newfoundland and Labrador (5). Illness onset dates range from November 2016 to January 2017. The investigation is ongoing.

Allergy Alert: Alimentation Du-Mag inc. (Sacré-Coeur, QC) recalls Strudel, due to undeclared milk, egg and soy protein.

Allergy Alert (Update): Amira Enterprises Inc. updates its recall of Ziyad brand Soup Starter Soup Base – Jameed issued on February 24, 2017 to include additional distribution information. Please refer to the recall notice for additional details.

Food Safety Recall: Transilvania Trading recalls Trader Joe’s Organic Unsweetened Apple Sauce (All Best Before dates up through OCT 06, 2018) and Trader Joe’s First Crush Unsweetened Gravenstein Apple Sauce (All Best Before dates through AUG 08, 2018) due to the potential presence of pieces of glass. The recalled items were sold at Pirate Joe’s, located at 3744 West 10th Avenue, Vancouver, British Columbia.

Europe

Food Safety Recall (UK): Quorn Foods Ltd. recalls frozen Quorn Meat Free Mince (300g pkg; Best before 31 August 2018; Batch code 136331) because the product may contain small pieces of metal.

Pet Food Recall (UK): Pets at Home recalls four lines of AVA Dry Cat Food products because they contain lower levels of thiamine (vitamin B1) than specified in the recipe. Please refer to the recall notice for details.

Food Safety Alert (Hong Kong): The Hong Kong Department of Health  urges the public not to buy or consume a product called Eromate Coffee as it was found to contain an undeclared Part 1 poison

Australia and New Zealand

Food Safety Recall (Australia): Cottage Cheese Farm Pty Ltd. recalls Cottage Cheese Farm Ricotta (425g and 3kg plastic tubs; Use by 2 Mar 2017, 4 Mar 2017 and 5 Mar 2017 (425g), 7 Mar 2017 and 9 March (3kg); Product of Australia) due to E. coli contamination. The recalled products were distributed at Cottage Cheese farm store, delicatessens, small independent retailers, cafés and caterers in VIC.
