Food Safety Recall: PFP Enterprises, LLC, dba Texas Meat Packers, recalls approximately 7,146 pounds of raw beef products that were produced and packaged without the benefit of federal inspection. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were shipped to institutional and retail locations in Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin.

Food Safety Recall: Target Corporation recalls an undetermined amount of frozen ready-to-eat and not-ready-to-eat meat and poultry products due to temperature abuse during transport. Allergy Alert: Mini Dépanneur Général (Châteauguay, QC) recalls Choco Banana Loaf and Choco Marble Loaf (all batches) due to undeclared milk, nuts and peanuts.

Food Safety Recall: Binne à Tibi (Clerval, QC) recalls Binne à Tibi brand FÈVES VÉGÉ (345ml; all batches) and Soupe aux pois (500ml; all batches) due to inadequate preparation and processing.

Food Safety Recall: Masstown Market recalls Masstown Market Smoked Kippers (Product code 18.MR.30; UPC begins with 0 208172) and Masstown Market Cold Smoked Salmon (Product codes 18.MR.27, 18.AL.07 and 18.AL.11; UPC begins with 0 208035) because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. Outbreak Alert: CDC reports 40 illnesses in 27 states linked to consumption of kratom. Fourteen people have been hospitalized. The outbreak strain of Salmonella I 4,[5],12:b:- was identified by the North Dakota Department of Health in two samples of kratom obtained from an outbreak victim in North Dakota.

Allergy Alert: J Bar B Foods recalls simple truth Chicken Sausage Links SPINACH GRUYERE (12-oz. vacuum-sealed plastic packages; Lot #8034; Case code 90394; Sell by APR 16 2018) due to undeclared milk. The recalled item was shipped to retail locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah and Virginia.

Allergy Alert: Sensenig Turkey Farm LLC recalls approximately 1,925 pounds of turkey sausage products due to undeclared wheat and soy. Food Safety Recall: Interstate Meat Distributors, Inc. recalls approximately 14,806 pounds of ground beef and pork products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Pet Food Safety Recall: Steve’s Real Food recalls Raw Frozen Dog Food Turkey Canine Recipe (5-lb bags; Lot #E 178; Best by 09/27/18; UPC 6-91730-15303-8) due to potential Salmonella contamination. The recalled product was distributed to retail pet food stores in states of CA, CO, CT, IA, KS, FL, MD, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, TX, UT, VA, and WA.

Pet Food Safety Recall: Blue Ridge Beef recalls Kitten Grind raw pet food (2-lb chubs;  Lot#GA1102, stamped on metal clip at ends of chubs; Manufactured on 11/02/2017) due to potential contamination with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was initiated after the FDA received a complaint of two kitten deaths, including one death which was confirmed to be caused by Salmonella septicemia. The recalled products were shipped to Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina.

Pet Food Safety Recall: The J.M. Smucker Company Inc. has recalled various Gravy Train, Ol’ Roy, Kibbles ‘N Bits and Skippy wet/canned pet food products after the company confirmed the presence of pentobarbital in tallow, an ingredient in all of the recalled products. Food Safety Alert: CFIA warns the public not to consume home-made Organic Mushroom Soup (1L size) sold at Belleville Farmer’s Market because it may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum.

Food Safety Recall: Loblaw Companies Limited recalls Cooked Shrimp (56/65 Shirmp/lb – Pacific White Shrimp (300g; Product code 2018 OC 20: PM AP; UPC 0 60249 00927 1) due to the potential presence of raw shrimp, which may contain harmful bacteria. Food Safety Recall: Tarini Brothers Meat and Fish Market recalls certain Smoked Rainbow Trout products because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. Food Safety Recall: Guymon Extracts Inc. recalls Pork Soup with Rendered Pork Fat (from bone) fully cooked pork product (2.2 lb. – 10 polybag pillows packed in paper cartons; Lot code 010218-1; Product code 61306; Best before Dec. 22, 2019) due to a processing deviation that may have allowed potential spore-forming pathogen growth including Clostridium botulinum and Clostridium perfringensThe recalled product was shipped to distribution centers and further distributed in California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Texas and Washington.

Pet Food Safety Recall: Smokehouse Pet Products, Inc. recalls Smokehouse Beefy Munchies (4 oz pkg; Lot #449294; Best by 10/25/19; UPC 78565857957) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled product was sold in Washington, Michigan, North Carolina and Colorado through distributors selling to various retailers.

Pet Food Safety Recall: Raws for Paws recalls Ground Turkey Pet Food (1-lb and 5-lb chubs; Case codes 9900008, 9900009, 9900014, and 9900015) after testing by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) revealed the presence of Salmonella in some packages of Turkey Pet Food. The recalled product was distributed throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa directly to consumers and through online mail orders.

Canada

Food Safety Recall (Update): Sawler Gardens Ltd. recalls Sawler Turnip Sticks (340g; Product code 18 FE 11; UPC 6 21063 36600 3) and Compliments brand Baby Cut Turnip Sticks (340g; Product code 18 FE 11; UPC 0 68820 12504 4) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled products were distributed to retailers in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island, and may have been sold nationwide.

Food Safety Recall: K.J. Foods Inc. recalls KJ brand Sweet & Sour Chicken with Rice (450g; All units sold up to and including February 7, 2018; UPC 6 28568 61004 4) and KJ brand Sesame Chicken with Rice (450g; All units sold up to and including February 7, 2018; UPC 6 28568 61002 0) due to incorrect cooking instructions.
