United States

Allergy Alert: Texas Legend Foods recalls Silver Star Chipotle Queso Dip (16-oz. jars; Lots  060AFV7A, 072AFV7A, 072AFV7B, 090AFV7A, 111AFV7A; UPC 819993005394) due to undeclared cheese, milk and egg. The recalled product was distributed nationwide in retail stores.

Allergy Alert: Custom Culinary, Inc. recalls Molly’s Kitchen Soup Base Paste Beef Base Paste – NO MSG Added ( 6-lb. corrugate case; lot code of 72505 239497 or 72505 239498) and Molly’s Kitchen Chicken Base Paste / 301817 / No MSG Added (1-lb. white plastic jars; lot code of 72505 239497 or 72505 239498) due to undeclared soy and the possibility of mislabeled jars (jars labeled as chicken may contain beef). The recalled products were shipped to food service distributors nationwide.

Allergy Alert: Sunneen Health Foods recalls Whole Foods Market PB&J parfaits (8-oz. containers; All Best by dates before 7/13/2017; UPC 636910500448) due to undeclared soy, almonds and coconut. The recalled products were sold at five Whole Foods Market stores in New York and New Jersey.

Allergy Alert: Coborn’s, Inc. recalls Gluten Free Fudge Brownies (Expiration July 10, 2017; UPC 7-33147-20522-8), as some of the packages may contain Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Bars and, consequently, contain undeclared milk. The recalled products were distributed and sold at Coborn’s and Cash Wise stores in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, as well as Marketplace Foods stores in Wisconsin, and Coborn’s Delivers in the Twin Cities Metro area.

Allergy Alert: Biohealth Nutrition recalls Precision Blend Cookies & Cream (2-lb and 4-lb white plastic canisters; all lot codes) due to undeclared wheat.

Food Safety Recall: Marathon Enterprises Inc. recalls Hot Dog Products due to potential contamination with bone fragments. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were shipped to retail and institutional locations nationwide.

Food Safety Recall: M&L Farms, LLC recalls approximately 383 beef, goat, and lamb carcasses with offal that were produced with a non- potable water supply that failed to meet the Ohio Department of Health’s requirements in the Ohio Administrative Code for a private water system. Food Safety Recall: Sol Andino Import & Export recalls Ground Comin/Ground Cumin (2-oz clear plastic bag; UPC 884752003812) due to lead contamination.

Canada

Allergy Alert: Bluewater Creamery recalls Bluewater Creamery brand Vegan Ice Cream (500 ml; various flavours; all product codes) due to undeclared wheat. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were supplied to retailers in Ontario.

Allergy Alert: Malabar Super Spice Co. Ltd. recalls various Malabar brand products due to undeclared milk. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were supplied to hotel, restaurant and institutional customers nationwide.

Food Safety Recall: Sea World Fisheries Ltd. recalls Sea World Fisheries brand Farmed Live Shell Oyster (5 doz; Harvest date JUL 01, 2017; Process date JUL 03, 2017; Harvest area 14-8, Denman Island, BC; Lot # OY-9437) due to Vibrio parahaemolyticus. The recalled product was supplied to hotels, restaurants, institutional customers and retailers in British Columbia and Ontario.

Food Safety Recall (Update): Industry recalls various St.-Laurent, Beurre du Lac, Perron and Nutrinor butters due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Please refer to the updated recall notice for details of the affected products, which were supplied to retailers in Quebec.

Food Safety Recall/Outbreak Alert: Loblaw Companies Limited recalls President’s Choice Pub Recipe Chicken Nuggets – Uncooked Breaded Cutlettes (800g; Product code 2018 MR 15; UPC 0 60383 13171 5) due to Salmonella contamination. Twelve cases of Salmonella Enteritidis infection have been associated with consumption of the recalled product.

Europe

Allergy Alert (UK): PepsiCo recalls Doritos Chilli Heatwave (150g; Best before 07/10/2017; Batch codes GBC209 166 and GBC209 167 (time code affected between 23:47 – 01:00) 7174) and Doritos Chilli Heatwave (90g; Best before 07/10/2017; Batch codes GBC207 166 and GBC207 167 (time code affected between 23:47 – 01:00) 7187) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert (UK): The Great Northern Sandwich Co recalls Spar Daily Deli Peppered Ham & Egg Sandwiches (Use by 12 July 2017) due to undeclared soya and sulphites.

Allergy Alert (UK): E H Booths recalls Booths Fruit Teacakes (4-pack; Best before 18 July 2017; Batch code 404221) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall (Denmark): Danish Bottling Company A/S recalls Bottled drinking water produced for Nemlig.Com (0.5 liter; Best before 19/05-2019) due to elevated bacteria counts and presence of coliform bacteria.

Food Safety Recall (Germany): SB-Convenience GmbH recalls Landjunker minced meat (500g; best before 17.07.17) due to possible contamination with pieces of blue plastic. The recalled product was sold at Lidl Germany in Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bavaria.

Food Safety Recall (Germany): COPACK Frozen Food International recalls GUT & GÜNSTIG brand Nasi Goreng (750g deep-frozen bags; expiry 06.2018; lot L7159S13) due to possible contamination with pieces of plastic.

Food Safety Recall (Ireland): Marks & Spencer recalls various haggis and pudding products manufactured by Macsween of Edinburgh Ltd. due to because of inadequate process controls in place to prevent the growth and toxin production of Clostridium botulinum. Food Safety Recall (UK): Macsween of Edinburgh Ltd recalls various products, including products manufactured for Lidl and Marks & Spencer, as a precautionary measure, because of concerns over the company’s procedures in place to control Clostridium botulinum. Allergy Alert: H-E-B recalls H-E-B Creamy Creations Cherry Vanilla Light Churn Style Half-Gallon Ice Cream (SELL BY OCT 19 17 ENJOY BY NOV 18 17 with a time stamp of 13:48, 13:49, 13:50, 13:51, 13:52, 13:53, 13:54, 13:55, 13:56, 13:57, or 13:58) due to undeclared almonds.   • Allergy Alert: Herbalife recalls Instant Healthy Meal Nutritional Shake Mix packets (cartons of 12 packets & single-serving packets in introductory business pack; Lot Nos. 133405G10, 133408G10, & 133409G10) due to undeclared traces of milk proteins. The label identifies the product as dairy-free. The recalled product was distributed in the USA from January 16, 2013 through February 16, 2013, exclusively to individual independent distributors.
  • Allergy Alert Update: Bruce Foods Corporation (New Iberia, LA) recalls Food Club Red Enchilada Sauce (10 oz cans; Code GES 462449; Best before 12/3/2016) due to undeclared wheat and soy. The recalled product was distributed between 1/15/2013 and 1/28/2013 in Virginia, Minnesota and Indiana. The original recall notice did not include Indiana in the distribution lits.
  • Food Safety Recall: Dakota Specialty Milling recalls certain specialty flours and grain blends due to the possible presence of fragments of thin metal wire from a defective screen on one of its manufacturing lines. The recalled flours and blends were supplied to manufacturers of leading brands of variety breads, cereals, crackers, granola, and nutrition bars, and were not sold directly to consumers.

Only those bags where the Best Used By Date and Lot code numbers are printed on the side of the bag beneath the nutrition panel are affected.
  • Food Recall: Price Chopper recalls Price Chopper Cooked Squash (12 oz; UPC 41735-30346; Lot #1PNNUA21; Best by November 21, 2013), due to taste and odor not meeting quality expectations.
  • Pet Food Safety Recall: Hy-Vee, Inc. recalls Hy-Vee Complete Dog – Complete Nutrition (Green Bag) dog food (34-lb, 8-lb and 4.4-lb bags; UPC 07545005647, 07545005667 & 07545005665, respectively; Lot # ending with 29812KC; Best by date 11/24/13), Hy-Vee Complete Dog – Complete Nutrition (Green Bag) dog food (4.4-lb bags; UPC 07545005665; Lot # ending with 29912KC; Best by date 11/25/13) and Hy-Vee Complete Dog – Bites, Bones & Squares (Yellow Bag) dog food (20-lb and 4.4-lb bags; UPC 07545005680 & 07545005560, respectively; Lot # ending with 29312KC; Best by date 11/19/13), after the iowa Department of Agriculture found higher than normal levels of aflatoxin in some samples produced at a Kansas City plant operated by Pro-Pet, LLC. The recalled products were distributed to Hy-Vee stores in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin between October 26, 2012 and January 11, 2013.
  • Outbreak Alert Update: The State of Alaska reports that 18 individuals have been identified in an outbreak of Campylobacter infections associated with consuming raw milk distributed by a Kenai-based cow-share program. Some of the outbreak victims reported recurrent illness, and two people required hospitalization. The Alaska Section of Epidemiology is contacting individuals suspected of receiving or consuming raw milk from the implicated far and expects the number of probable and confirmed cases to rise. The implicated raw milk was distributed to shareholders throughout the Kenai Peninsula, in Anchorage and in Sitka. There is at least one secondary case – an infant who had close contact with a confirmed case-patient. Anyone in Alaska who consumed raw milk in 2013 and subsequently developed a diarrheal illness should contact the Alaska Section of Epidemiology at 907-269-8000 (in Anchorage) or toll-free at 1-800-478-0084 and ask to speak to a member of the Infectious Disease Team.

Canada

  • Food Safety Recall: Nu-Tea Company Ltd. (Abbotsford, BC) recalls Tega brand Organic Lemon Hibiscus Green Rooibos Herbal Tea (24 tea bags/48g/1.69 oz; UPC 6 64322 10406 0; Best before dates 2014FE01, 2014MR27, and 2014MR28) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled product was distributed at the retail level in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.
  • Outbreak Alert Update: The Public Health Agency of Canada reports that two more cases of E. coli O157:H7 illness have been linked to frozen beef burgers from Cardinal Meat Specialists Ltd. The latest illnesses, which were reported in Manitoba and Ontario, brings the total number of outbreak victims to seven people in three provinces: Ontario (4), Alberta (2) and Manitoba (1). The most recent illness reports triggered a reopening of CFIA’s investigation into operations at Cardinal, and prompted the recall of additional products by the company.
