United States

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: CDC is investigating two separate outbreaks of Salmonella illnesses linked to consumption of Italian-style meats. Twenty-three Salmonella Typhimurium infections have been reported from 14 states, and thirteen Salmonella Infantis infections have been reported from seven states. Twelve people have been hospitalized. CDC is working with federal and state partners to identify the source of the outbreaks. Until the source has been identified, consumers are urged to heat all Italian-style meats to an internal temperature of 165°F or until steaming hot before eating.

Allergy Alert: Jimbo’s Kitchen, DBA New England Cupboard recalls Jimbo’s Bloody Mary Mix (4”x6” stand up plastic resealable pouch; Manufactured from 8/23/2019 till 8/23/2021; UPC 7 87562 00099 9) due to undeclared soy, wheat, and sulphites.

Food Safety Recall: Willow Tree Poultry Farm recalls approximately 52,022 pounds of various chicken salads and dip products due to possible foreign matter (hard white plastic pieces) contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: Curation Foods recalls Eat Smart brand Asian Sesame (Sésame asiatique) Chopped Salad Kit (340g; Batch codes AUG 24 2021, 2021 AU 24, 2 0 A 221; UPC 7 09351 30169 8) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Morgan Williams International Inc. recalls Mr. Porky brand Original Scratchings (65g; All Best Before dates up to and including 19 FEB 22; UPC 5 010052 112700) due to possible Salmonella contamination. Although there have been no reported illnesses in Canada, this product has been linked to an outbreak of Salmonella illnesses in the UK.

Food Safety Recall: Foothills Creamery Ltd. recalls Foothills Creamery brand Turtle Mountain Ice Cream (11.4 L; Product code 210 227 217; UPC 0 67408 11093 9) and Foothills Creamery brand Rocky Road Ice Cream (11.4 L; Product code 210 232 218; UPC 0 67408 11058 8) due to foreign matter (pieces of metal) contamination.
