United States

Allergy Alert: Van Leeuwen Ice Cream recalls Oat Milk Brown Sugar Chunk frozen dairy dessert (14 oz; Lot #21V194; Best by 1/13/2023) due to undeclared cashews and pistachio.

Public Health Alert: USDA issues a public health alert for raw ground beef products due to concerns that the ground beef may contain hard plastic. A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase. Please refer to the USDA notice for a complete list of affected products.

Europe

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (France): Santé publique France reports eighty-one Salmonella cases as of May 4, 2022, in 12 regions of France linked to consumption of Kinder chocolate products manufactured by Ferrero in Belgium. Twenty-two of the outbreak victims in France have been hospitalized. France is one of more than a dozen countries that have reported Salmonella illnesses linked to this outbreak.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (France): Santé publique France reports fifty-six cases of hemolytic uremic syndrome linked to Buitoni Fraîch’Up frozen pizzas as of May 4, 2022. Fifty-five of the victims are children. Two of the cases are associated with E. coli O103 infections; the other fifty-four cases are associated with E. coli O26.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (UK): As of May 5, 2022, the UK Health Security Agency reports 101 Salmonella infections linked to consumption of Kinder chocolate products manufactured by Ferrero in Belgium. The majority of the cases are children under 5 years of age.

Allergy Alert (Belgiium): Albert Heijn recalls AH brand Glutenvrij Vezelrijke zadencrackers / Gluten-free, high fibre seed crackers (Best before 08/10/2022) due to undeclared milk (lactose).

Allergy Alert (France): STB STALAVEN – EURALIS recalls Qualité Traiteur brand TAGLIATELLE A LA CARBONARA (Lot 211801; Use by 15/05/2022) due to undeclared egg and gluten.

Allergy Alert (Spain): GY Chongqing Instant Noodle Hot and Sour Flavour (110g; Batch #300372; Best before 01-07-2022, 01-10-2022, 01-02-2023 and 01-03-2023) contains undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert (Ireland): FSAI announces recall of GY Chongqing Instant Noodle Hot and Sour Flavour (110g; Best before 01-07-2022, 01-10-2022, 01-02-2023 and 01-03-2023) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert (UK): Liroy B.V. recalls GY Chongqing Instant Noodle Hot and Sour Flavour (110g; All best before dates) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert (UK): Pimlico Confectioners recalls Pimlico Confectioners Vegan Fine Hazelnut Truffles (110g; Lot 11823512000; Best before 16 December 2022) due to undeclared milk.
