OUTBREAK ALERT (Texas): The Texas Department of State Health Services has ordered a recall of all oysters harvested in the TX 1 area of southeastern Galveston Bay (shell and shucked oysters harvested in the area from Nov. 17 through Dec. 7) after reports of a few dozen cases of gastrointestinal illness among people who ate oysters from those waters. Reported symptoms include fever, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, chills and headache.
Allergy Alert:Hartzler Family Dairy (Wooster, OH) recalls Hartzler Family brand Egg Nog (1-qt bottles; Sell by 12/15 and 12/25) due to undeclared allergens (absence of ingredient list).
Food Safety Alert: The Ohio Department of Agriculture issues a health alert for Seville Spread and Seville Spread Brown Sugar Cinnamon (4oz & 8oz pkgs; Batch No. 221112), made by Yellow House Cheese LLC (Seville, OH) due to the lack of antibiotic testing and pasteurization records for the milk used to make the cheese.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (Sweden): Sweden’s Public Health Agency is tracking an outbreak of Salmonella Agona illnesses that has affected 26 people in Sweden since November 1st. The same outbreak strain also has been recovered from 58 individuals in Norway. A specific food source for the cross-border outbreak has not yet been identified.
Allergy Alert (Spain): The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition warns of undeclared almonds in multiple brands of dark chocolate manufactured in Spain. Please refer to the notice for a complete list of affected brands.
