USA (Update): CDC has received reports of 20 cases of Salmonella Cotham infections in 14 states linked to contact with bearded dragons. Nine people have been hospitalized and Kentucky has reported one death associated with this outbreak. Forty percent (40%) of the victims were less than one year old.

Allergy Alert Update: Suzanna’s Kitchen recalls FULLY COOKED BREADED CHICKEN PORTIONS (18-lb cases; Case code P-1380 126237 B30851 23:11 K04; Produced Nov. 4, 2025) due to undeclared soy.

DENMARK (Update): The Statens Serum Institut reports 45 cases of Salmonella Typhimurium sequence type 19 as of December 16, 2025. Cases have been reported from several regions of the country. A source has not yet been identified.

FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Harbor Marine Product Inc. that a March 5, 2025, through March 27, 2025 inspection of the company’s seafood processing facility found evidence of serious violations of the seafood Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation and evidence of non-pathogenic Listeria spp. in environmental swab samples collected during the inspection.

FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns North Creek Farm that a February 24, 2025, through April 14, 2025, inspection of the company’s shell egg farm and shell egg processing facility found serious violations of the Prevention of Salmonella Enteritidis in Shell Eggs During Production, Storage, and Transportation regulation (the Shell Egg Regulation).

FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Bedner Growers, Inc. that inspections of the company’s farm from April 1, 2025, through April 3, 2025, and from June 5, 2024, through June 7, 2024 in conjunction with two outbreak investigations that the cucumbers grown and packed by the company are adulterated within the meaning of section 402(a)(4) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (the Act) [21 U.S.C. § 342(a)(4)] in that they were prepared, packed, or held under insanitary conditions whereby they may have become contaminated with Salmonella, a human pathogen.
