United States

Outbreak Alert: CDC is investigating an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 illnesses linked to chopped Romaine lettuce. The lettuce appears to be from the Yuma, Arizona growing region. CDC has received reports of 35 confirmed cases in 11 states. While a specific grower or packer of the implicated lettuce has not been named by CDC, the agency is recommending that consumers avoid purchasing or eating chopped Romaine lettuce from the Yuma, Arizona region.

Outbreak Alert/Food Safety Recall: Rose Acre Farms recalls 206,749,248 eggs (LOT CODES 011 through 102 from Plant Number P-1065) after FDA determines the eggs to be associated with at least 22 confirmed cases of Salmonella Braenderup infections in multiple states. The recalled eggs were distributed in Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia through retail stores and restaurants via direct delivery. Allergy Alert: Guixens Food Group, Inc. recalls La Marinera Brand Dried Yellow Potatoes (10-oz pkg; Expiration date July 2018; UPC 7-42287-73054-5) due to undeclared sulfites.

Food Safety Recall: Fresh Foods Manufacturing Co. recalls approximately 8,757 pounds of ready-to-eat salad products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7 after the company received notification from their romaine lettuce supplier that the romaine lettuce used by the establishment in the products was being recalled due to E. coli O157:H7 concerns. Food Safety Recall: Seacrest Foods International, Inc. recalls Formagere de la Brie brand l’Explorateur soft ripened cheese (250g (8.8 oz), clear plastic package; Lot #H010 or H011; UPC 3 390010 004080; Product of France) due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled product was distributed at retail stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Jersey and New Hampshire beginning on 02/06/2018 through 03/31/18.

Food Safety Recall: Koch Foods, Inc. recalls Fully Cooked Rib-Shaped Beef Patty With BBQ Sauce (30-lb bulk boxes; Lot #JTM 16190; Case code 67329) due to possible foreign matter (blue plastic pieces) contamination.

Pet Food Safety Recall: K9 Natural Ltd recalls four batches of K9 Natural Frozen Chicken Feast (2.2lb and 11lb bags; Product of New Zealand) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for details on affected production batches.

Outbreak Alert/Food Safety Recall: Groupe Adonis Inc. recalls Montana brand Frozen Strawberries (1kg; All codes purchased on or before April 14, 2018; UPC 6222000401487; Product of Egypt) because the product has been linked to an unspecified number of cases of Hepatitis A illnesses. The recalled product was sold exclusively from Adonis markets in Quebec and Ontario.

Allergy Alert: Seoul Trading Corp recalls Dong Won brand Frozen Shrimp Cutlet (480g; All lots; UPC 8 801047 321842) due to undeclared egg. The recalled product was distributed to retailers in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and possibly nationally.

Allergy Alert: Stewart’s Shops Corp. recalls Stewart’s pint Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ice cream (16-oz container; Sell by 08/23/18; UPC 0 82086 44468 8) due to undeclared peanuts. The recalled ice cream containers may have been packaged with a ‘Chocolate’ lid by error.

Allergy Alert: Cookwell & Company recalls Four J Charred Tomato & Basil Sauce (24-oz glass jars; Best by 10 NOV 18) due to undeclared soy, wheat and fish.

Food Safety Recall: Conagra Brands, Inc. recalls Banquet FAMILY SIZE 6 SALISBURY STEAKS & BROWN GRAVY MADE WITH CHICKEN, PORK AND BEEF – GRILL MARKS ADDED (27-oz. carton; Lot #5006 8069 10 05; Best by SEP 01 2019) due to possible foreign matter (bone) contamination. The recalled product was shipped to retail locations nationwide.

Food Safety Recall: Whole Foods Market recalls Explorateur French Triple Crème cheese (Various packaging; Sell by 02/15/2018 through 04/03/2018) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled product was sold in nine Whole Foods stores in New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, Connecticut and New Jersey. Allergy Alert: Legend Q Trading Inc. recalls Liao Bu De brand Fish and Shrimp Dumplings (230g; All lots; UPC 6 953640 000623) due to undeclared egg. The recalled product was sold through retailers in Ontario.

Food Safety Recall (Update): R.T. Fresh Prepared Foods Inc. recalls various Culinary Creations Gourmet* and Denny’s Express sandwiches due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Food Safety Recall: Metro Ontario Inc. recalls Fresh 2 Go(F2GO) Roast Beef Paninis (2-packs and 4-packs; All units sold up to and including April 10, 2018) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled products were sold from Metro locations in Ontario.

Food Safety Recall (Update): Erie Meat Products Ltd. recalls Deli Classic brand Seasoned Cooked Roast Beef Round (Variable sizes; Best before 2018AL10 and 2018AL17) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. This recall was triggered by findings by the CFIA during its investigation into a foodborne illness outbreak. The recalled product was sold in Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador, and may have been distributed to other provinces or territories. This product may have been portioned and sold without a label, coding or under a different brand. Consumers who are unsure if they have purchased the affected product are advised to contact their retailer.

Mandatory Food Safety Recall: FDA issues mandatory recall order for for all food products containing powdered kratom manufactured, processed, packed, or held by Triangle Pharmanaturals LLC. FDA’s action follows the company’s refusal to conduct a voluntary recall after several of its products were found to be contaminated with Salmonella. The recalled products include, but are not limited to, Raw Form Organics Maeng Da Kratom Emerald Green, Raw Form Organics Maeng Da Kratom Ivory White, and Raw Form Organics Maeng Da Kratom Ruby Red. Numerous brands of kratom-containing products have been linked to a multi-state outbreak of salmonellosis from multiple strains of Salmonella.

Allergy Alert: Good Foods Group, LLC recalls approximately 130 pounds of fully cooked ready-to-eat curry chicken salad products due to undeclared cashews. Outbreak Alert/Food Safety Recall: Global Commodities Corporation recalls Buenas Brand frozen grated coconut (16-oz plastic bag; Lot #10BAAGA; UPC 4806514650443; Product of The Philippines) due to Salmonella contamination. The contamination was detected by the California Department of Public Health while investigating reported illnesses. The recalled product was distributed to various grocery stores and ethnic food markets in Northern California.

Food Safety Recall: Bob’s Red Mill Natural Foods recalls Organic Amaranth Flour (22 oz; Sell By 11/26/2015; Lot #169617; UPC 0 39978 00911 1) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled product was distributed in CA, FL, MI, ND, N, NY, OH, OR, TX, and WA starting June 11, 2014 and ended shipping on August 7, 2014.

Food Safety Recall: J.T.M. Provisions, Co. recalls approximately 14,525 pounds of fully cooked not shelf stable pulled barbequed beef products that may contain foreign matter (rubber). Food Safety Recall: Pelleh Farms Inc. recalls Bethel Creamery brand Pasteurized Whole Organic Milk Non-Homogenized (64-fl. oz. plastic bottle; Use by APR 08 2018) due to improper pasteurization. The recalled milk was sold in Rockland County and Brooklyn, NY.
