LATVIA: The Center for Disease Prevention and Control is investigating an outbreak of Salmonella that has sickened at least 120 people.

USA (Update): FDA has initiated an inspection as part of its investigation into an outbreak of a seven-case outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 illnesses linked to raw cheddar cheese. Two people have been hospitalized.

INDIA: The Regional Forensic Science Laboratory in Vijayawada confirms ethylene glycol contamination in milk supplied by a private dairy unit in Narasapuram village, Korukonda Mandal, which distributed products to over 100 families in the Lalacheruvu area. The source was traced to a leaky freezer at the dairy. The death toll has risen to 16.
