Outbreak/Illness Investigations

USA (Update): CDC is following up on reports of Cyclospora outbreaks in multiple states. As of July 13, 2026, the agency has received reports of 1,645 confirmed domestic cases of cyclosporiasis and is aware of more than 5,100 cases that require further analysis. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has recorded 2,640 cases in that state alone. The source or sources of the outbreaks has (have) not yet been identified. Michigan announced yesterday that current results point to lettuce or salad greens as a potential source for this outbreak, although other food items cannot be completely ruled out.

United States

Allergy Alert: Khong Guan Corporation recalls Glutinous Rice Balls with Black Sesame Filling (14.1 oz bag; Date code 10/19/2027) due to undeclared peanuts.

Food Safety Recall: General Mills James Ford Bell Technical Center recalls Pillsbury Bread Rolls, Hard Roll Dough (25.31 lbs; Lots 11JUN6JL & 12JUN6JL; Better if used by OCT 12 26 & OCT 13 26, respectively) and Pillsbury Bread Rolls, Kaiser Roll Dough (22.5 lbs; Lot12JUN6JL; Better if used by OCT 13 26) due to possible foreign matter contamination (glass).

Food Safety Recall: Nutricia North America recalls functional formularies LIQUID HOPE ORGANIC WHOLE FOODS MEAL REPLACEMENT PEPTIDE FORMULA BERRY MEDLEY (12 oz x 24-count case and 12 oz x 12-count package; Best if used by dates up to and including March 15, 2028 and up to and including October 7, 2027, respectively) and functional formularies NOURISH ORGANIC WHOLE FOODS MEAL REPLACEMENT PEPTIDE FORMULA BERRY MEDLEY COMPLETE PLANT BASED NUTRITION (12 oz x 24-count case and 12 oz x 12-count package; Best if used by dates up to and including April 14, 2028 and up to and including February 19, 2028, respectively) due to subpotent level of Vitamin A.
