OUTBREAK ALERT (UPDATE): FDA advises consumers not to eat any fresh, conventional blackberries if purchased between September 9 and September 30, 2019, from Fresh Thyme Farmers Market stores in these 11 states: IA, IL, IN, KY, MI, MO, MN, NE, OH, PA, and WI or from Woodman’s Market located in Wisconsin and Illinois. These blackberries have been linked to 20 cases of hepatitis A infections in 7 states.

OUTBREAK ALERT (MULTIPLE COUNTRIES): European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reports an ongoing outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis infections linked to shell eggs. The outbreak has been underway since 2017. As of the most recent update, ECDC has identified 656 confirmed cases and 202 probable cases in 15 countries since February 2017.

OUTBREAK ALERT (Multiple countries): More than 1,000 people in France and at least 180 Danes have fallen ill as a result of consuming Norovirus-contaminated oysters from France. The oyster beds became contaminated as a result of a sewage overflow on the French Atlantic coast.
