Food Safety Recall: R. L. Zeigler Co., Inc. recalls approximately 11,664 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) poultry and meat sausage products due to foreign matter (metal) contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of recalled products, which were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

Food Safety Alert: Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture quarantines raw cows’ milk from Miller’s Biodiversity Farm after a strain of Brucella abortus (RB51) is found in raw milk purchased from the farm. One individual in New York state has been diagnosed with RB51. Affected individuals may develop flu-like symptoms, fever, sweats, headaches, back pain, and physical weakness.

Canada

Allergy Alert: Cape Breton Fudge Co. recalls Cape Breton Coal candy (45g; No batch codes or UPC) due to undeclared walnuts. The recalled product was sold to consumers in Nova Scotia.

Allergy Alert: Portofino Bakery Ltd. recalls Portofino European Bakery Gluten Free Almond Stollen (700g; Product codes BB DEC 26, BB DEC 27, BB DEC 28; UPC 6 61172 02077 9 & 6 61172 01002 2) due to undeclared wheat.
