Allergy Alert: Hy-Vee, Inc. recalls various Hy-Vee brand pizzas due to undeclared soy. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products, which were distributed at the Twin Cities Hy-Vee stores in New Hope, Oakdale, Lakeville, Brooklyn Park, Eagan and Savage, near the stores’ Italian departments and prepared-meal areas.

Allergy Alert: D & D Foods, Inc. recalls approximately 17,847 pounds of Hy-Vee brand pepperoni pizza products due to undeclared soy. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Allergy Alert: Stefano’s Foods, Inc. recalls SCREAMIN’ SICILIAN PIZZA CO. STROMBOLI SUPREMUS MAXIMUS PEPPERONI & ITALIAN SAUSAGE (18.5-oz. boxes containing two pieces; Enjoy by 2/19/2018; Lot code 70010117517) due to undeclared eggs.

Food Safety Recall/Outbreak Alert: Grande Produce (San Juan, TX) recalls Caribeña brand Maradol Papayas (shipped between July 10 and July 19, 2017; product of Mexico) due to Salmonella contamination. The recalled papayas have been implicated in an ongoing outbreak of Salmonella Kiambu illnesses. The outbreak has claimed one life so far, and sickened 47 people in 12 states. The recalled products were sold in a number of states, including California. The following retailers have alerted their customers to the recall alert: Aldi, Lucky Supermarkets, Save Mart Supermarkets and Walmart.

Canada

Allergy Alert: Loblaw Companies Limited recalls Rocky Mountain Pies brand Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Crème Pie (737g; Product code 7 153; UPC 8 15360 01241 5) due to undeclared egg. The recalled product was supplied to retail stores nationwide.

Allergy Alert: Alimentation Jean-Richard Caron inc. (Metro) recalls two products due to undeclared sesame seeds and soy. Please refer to the recall notice for product details.

Food Safety Alert (Update): Consumers are urged to avoid purchasing or eating certain products made using frozen raw raspberries, as the products may be contaminated with Norovirus. Please refer to the notice for additional details.

Europe

Allergy Alert (Germany): Ayyildiz Großhandel recalls AYYILDIZ brand “piquant seasoned soft”, “chili” and “Nacho” Corn products due to undeclared wheat.

Allergy Alert (Germany): Uplegger Food Company GmbH recalls The Coconut Collaborative coconut-based yogurt alternatives (various flavors) due to undeclared milk. Please refer to the recall notice for additional details.

Food Safety Recall (New Zealand): Pak’n Save Cameron Road (Tauranga) recalls Pak’nSave brand NZ Pork Roast (various weights; Use By 01.10.19) due to an incorrect ‘Use by’ date.

United States

Outbreak Alert: CDC and FDA are alerting consumers to an outbreak of Salmonella illnesses traced to Caribeña brand Maradol papayas grown in Mexico and distributed in the USA by Grande Produce, San Juan, Texas. Federal agencies, working together with the Maryland Department of Health and other state agencies have identified 47 Salmonella Kiambu cases in 12 states. The numbers are current as of July 21, 2017. FDA advises consumers not to eat the implicated papayas.

Food Safety Recall: The Idaho Foodbank recalls approximately 27,000 pounds of Coconut Beverage, Broccoli Cheddar Soup, Eggs, and Cheese Products, because they were not continuously maintained or stored at the required temperature due to a malfunction in the cooler. Please refer to the recall notice for additional details on affecgted products, which were distributed in Southwest and North-Central Idaho.

Food Safety Recall: Bush Brothers & Company recalls Bush’s Best brand Brown Sugar Hickory Baked Beans (28-oz can; Lot codes 6097S GF and 6097P GF; best by Jun 2019; UPC 0 39400 01977 0), Bush’s Best brand Country Style Baked Beans (28-oz. can; Lot codes 6077S RR, 6077P RR, 6087S RR, and 6087P RR; Best by Jun 2019; UPC 0 39400 01974 9) and Bush’s Best brand Original Baked Beans (28-oz. can; Lot codes 6057S LC and 6057P LC; Best by Jun 2019; UPC 0 39400 01614 4) due to defective side seams. The recalled products were distributed nationwide.

Food Safety Recall: Bhu Foods recalls various flavors of Protein Bars due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. Please refer to the recall notice for a detailed list of affected products, which were available nationwide in retail stores as well as by mail order/direct delivery.

Food Safety Recall: Cesina Sausage Company recalls CESINA’S BRAND FULLY COOKED SMOKED PORK KOLBASSI (1-lb. vacuumed packed packages; produced June 22, 2017) because the product label identifies this product as ready-to-eat, when in fact this product is not-ready-to-eat.

Canada

Food Safety Recall (Update): Industry expands is earlier recall of various brands of butter due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination to include additional product information. Please refer to the recall notice for additional details on affected products, which were supplied to retailers in Quebec.

Food Safety Recall: Boucherie Champlain recalls PEPERETTE DE WAGYU (variable size packages; all lots sold up to July 18, 2017) because the product was not manufactured under conditions that ensure safety.

Allergy Alert (Finland): His & Hers Oy recalls Warhead brand Sour Twist Candy (99g; Best by 13OCT2018) due to undeclared wheat.
