Outbreak/Illness Investigations
FRANCE: Santé Publique France is investigating an outbreak of 81 cases of Salmonella Enteritidis linked to consumption of pumpkin seeds from a single processor. A recall has been initiated for the implicated pumpkin seeds as well as seed mixtures containing the pumpkin seeds. The recalled products were distributed nationwide by Agidra Grand Frais. The seeds were also distributed in Belgium, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.
INDONESIA: More than 1700 students and teachers across several provinces have contracted food poisoning after consuming government-issued free meals.
MEXICO: The Secretariat of Health reports an outbreak of 135 Salmonella cases associated with food consumed at the outsourced staff cafeteria of Hospital General de México in Mexico City. In addition to the Salmonella infections, two cases of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli were confirmed.
USA (Update): San Diego County reports that an FDA inspection uncovered Salmonella contamination at Happy Hens poultry farm in Ramona, California. Eggs from the farm have been linked to 23 cases of Salmonella infections. Seven people have been hospitalized. The California Department of Public Health has recommended that the farm recall their eggs, but the company has not yet done so.

Food Safety Recall: Foods Alive Inc recalls organic moringa leaf powder (8 oz; Freshest by date 110127) due to possible Salmonella contamination.
Canada
Allergy Alert: Empire Health Distribution Inc. recalls Smarter Snacks brand Vegan Protein Puff Chili & Lime Flavored (50g; Lots SS223 & SS110; Best before 11/08/2026 & 20/04/2027, respectively; UPC 8 684041 306837) due to undeclared milk.
Allergy Alert: Vera Trima Import Export Inc. recalls Cucina d’Oro brand Pesto (212 ml; Lot/Batch code LM 356 & K085; Expiry 01/03/2027 & 03/26/2029, respectively; UPC 8 51119 10030 9 & 8 51119 00129 3, respectively) due to improperly declared cashew.
Allergy Alert: Ten Ten Dim Sum recalls multiple Ten Ten Dim Sum brand buns and dumplings due to undeclared milk.
Public Health Alert: MAPAC warns that SAUCE AUX PIMENTS / Chili sauce (Sold up to 3 September 2026 at all branches of Marché d’ici et d’ailleurs inc. (region of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, QC) presents a risk to health because it may support growth of Clostridium botulinum.

Food Safety Recall (UK): Sainsbury’s recalls Inspired to Cook by Sainsbury’s Pitted Black Olives (120g; Use by 06 September 2026, 07 September 2026, 10 September 2026) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Hong Kong and Singapore
Food Safety Recall (Hong Kong) Importers recall three batches of Paturages Comtois brand brie (Various weights, batch codes, and Use-by dates; Products of France) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Australia and New Zealand
Food Safety Recall (Australia): Bottega 1995 recalls Brie Mon Sire (1 kg; Best before 13/10/2026) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Food Safety Recall (New Zealand): Sabato Ltd recalls Mon Sire brand Brie (Various weights; Best before 26.09.26 ) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
