Outbreak/Illness Investigations
USA: CDC and FDA are investigating an outbreak of Salmonella Montevideo infections linked to consumption of cucumbers grown by Bedner Growers, Inc. (Florida). Twenty-six cases have been confirmed in 15 states. Nine people have been hospitalized.
USA (Update): FDA continues its investigation of a pair of Salmonella Enteritidis outbreaks linked to a not yet identified food. The combined total of confirmed cases has increased to 133.

Allergy Alert: Element 112, LLC dba Madeline’s Pâtisserie recalls Chocolate croissants and Raspberry croissants (2.5 oz & 3.5 oz; Produced between March 10, 2025 and May 7, 2025) due to undeclared wheat.
Food Safety Recall: Bedner Growers, Inc. recalls cucumbers sold at Bedner’s Farm Fresh Market between April 29, 2025, and May 14, 2025 due to possible Salmonella contamination.
Food Safety Recall: Bourgeois Smokehouse recalls approximately 100 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) smoked andouille sausage products (Produced May 12, 2025) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Food Safety Recall: Snack Mania Brazilian Delights Corp recalls Snack Mania COXINHAS BRAZILIAN STUFFED BITES Original Chicken (16.37 oz; Produced on various dates from June 27, 2024, through May 02, 2025) that were produced without benefit of federal inspection.
FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Baldwin Richardson Foods Pennsauken, LLC that a July 15 to August 23, 2024 inspection of the company’s aseptic processing facility of low-acid canned food (LACF) non-dairy beverages found serious violations of the Emergency Permit Control regulation and the Thermally Processed Low-Acid Foods Packaged in Hermetically Sealed Containers regulation.
FDA Warning Letter: FDA warns Breadbox Co. that a May 10 through June 7, 2024 inspection of the company’s manufacturing facility found serious violations of the Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food Regulations.
