OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: Canadian Food Inspection Agency is investigating an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes illnesses that may be linked to contaminated surface-ripened soft and semi-soft cheeses. Please see recall notice, below.
Allergy Alert: Fresh Prep Foods Inc. recalls Fresh Prep brand Nutty Kale Salad with Goat Cheese and Creamy Maple Dressing (240g; Batch codes 111R005.60, 121R006.60, 131R007.60, 151R009.60; Best before 23JA10, 23JA11, 23JA12, 23JA14, respectively) due to undeclared sesame. The recalled product was sold online.
Food Safety Recall: La boulangerie Première Moisson du Plateau-Mont-Royal (Montréal, QC) recalls Pâté chinois / Chinese pâté (300g; Sold from 11 to 16 January 2023) due to possible Salmonella contamination.
Food Safety Recall: Pain viande vin Furley inc (Hudson, QC) recalls PARFAIT DE FOIE GRAS (Sold up to 18 January 2023) due to lack of storage temperature instructions on the label.
Food Safety Recall: Le Fromage au Village Inc. recalls various surface-ripened soft and semi-soft cheeses due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled products may be linked to an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections, and were sold in Ontario, Quebec, online and may have been distributed in other provinces and territories.
Europe
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (FRANCE): Health authorities are investigating an outbreak of five serious cases of Listeria monocytogenes linked to consumption of multiple vegetarian foods produced by JAY&JOY. Four of the outbreak victims are pregnant women who delivered prematurely. An investigation of the production facility has resulted in suspension of operations and sale of all products manufactured at the facility. The company has recalled all outstanding inventory in distribution.
