OUTBREAK ALERT (Texas): The Texas Department of State Health Services has ordered a recall of all oysters harvested in the TX 1 area of southeastern Galveston Bay (shell and shucked oysters harvested in the area from Nov. 17 through Dec. 7) after reports of a few dozen cases of gastrointestinal illness among people who ate oysters from those waters. Reported symptoms include fever, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, chills and headache.

Allergy Alert: Hartzler Family Dairy (Wooster, OH) recalls Hartzler Family brand Egg Nog (1-qt bottles; Sell by 12/15 and 12/25) due to undeclared allergens (absence of ingredient list).

Food Safety Alert: The Ohio Department of Agriculture issues a health alert for Seville Spread and Seville Spread Brown Sugar Cinnamon (4oz & 8oz pkgs; Batch No. 221112), made by Yellow House Cheese LLC (Seville, OH) due to the lack of antibiotic testing and pasteurization records for the milk used to make the cheese.
