OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: The CDC continues to investigate multiple Salmonella outbreaks linked to backyard poultry. Forty-eight states have confirmed a total of 572 illnesses; 92 people have been hospitalized. Two deaths have been reported.
