United States

OUTBREAK ALERT/FOOD SAFETY RECALL: Dungeness Valley Creamery has issued a voluntary recall of all raw milk product with a ‘Best By’ date of April 13, 2021, or earlier, after five cases of Campylobacter infections in Washington state were associated with consumption of the company’s raw milk.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: CDC is investigating a Salmonella Typhimurium outbreak that appears to be linked to wild songbirds. A total of 19 cases have been reported from eight states, including: California (3), Kentucky (1), Mississippi (1), New Hampshire (1), Oklahoma (1), Oregon (5), Tennessee (1) and Washington (6).

Public Health Alert: USDA/FSIS issues a public health alert for for approximately 39 pounds of raw ground chorizo sausage products due to potential foreign matter (hard pieces of crystalline material) contamination. Please refer to the public notice for a complete description of the affected products, which were sold at a farmer’s market and also shipped to retail locations in Oregon.                                 

Allergy Alert: HI-TECH Pharmaceuticals recalls Various APS Isomorph 28 Products and iFORCE Nutrition Mass Gainz Dietary Supplements due to undeclared milk, eggs, wheat and soy. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: Rong Shing Trading Inc. recalls approximately 3,365 pounds of Chinese style hot pot base products containing beef tallow. The products were imported from the People’s Republic of China, a country ineligible to export beef to the United States.

Canada

Food Safety Recall Update: Industry recalls certain apricot kernels products due to potential for cyanide poisoning. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall Update: Industry recalls Bitter apricot kernels (All units sold from February 20, 2020up to and including June 30, 2020 at Yin Chun Super Herbs Inc., Unit 2356 (2/F), 8339 Kennedy Rd., Markham, Ontario) due to potential for cyanide poisoning.

Europe

Allergy Alert (Finland): Dr. Oetker Suomi Oy withdraws from sale Dr. Oetker Pink Roses (50g; All batches) due to undeclared almonds.

Allergy Alert (France): Auchan recalls Auchan/Pouce BARRES DE CEREALES CHOCOLAT/BANANE (6 x 21g; Lot #A229356; Best before 10/12/2021) due to undeclared peanuts.

Allergy Alert (UK): Heron Foods recalls Milka Daim Bar (100g; Best before 30 October 2021) and Milka Yoghurt Bar (100g; Best before 01 February 2022) due to undeclared gluten, milk, almonds, hazelnuts and soy.

Allergy Alert (UK): Jim Jams Spreads Ltd recalls Jim Jams Dark Hazelnut Choc Spread (Vegan) (330g; All batch codes and Best before dates) and Jim Jams Dark Chocolate Orange Spread (Vegan) (330g; All batch codes and Best before dates) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall (France): Fromagerie Guillaume recalls Fromagerie Guillaume brand SAINT-NECTAIRE AU LAIT CRU DE VACHE / Cheese from raw cow’s milk (Lot 1AAV6 / 2AAV6; Best before 22/04/2021) due to Salmonella contamination.

Food Safety Recall (France): Industry recalls Clos Chevrel brand Fromage Valençay cheese (Lot V028; Best before 03/04/2021) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Recall (Ireland): Dunnes Stores recalls Irish Turkey Breast Crown with Prime Wings (1.5 kg; Use by 05 April 2021) due to incorrect cooking instructions that could lead to inadequate cooking of the product by consumers, making it unsafe to eat.

Food Safety Recall (UK): Morrisons recalls Morrisons Choco Crackles breakfast cereal (375g; Best before November 2021) due to foreign matter (pieces of plastic) contamination.

Food Safety Recall (UK): Dunnes Stores recalls Irish Turkey Breast Crown with Prime Wings (1.5 kg; Use by 05 April 2021) due to incorrect cooking instructions that could lead to inadequate cooking of the product by consumers, making it unsafe to eat.

Food Safety Recall (UK): Asda recalls Asda 2 Original Chicken Chargrills (170g; Batch code 31120953; Best before 05 September 2022) due to Salmonella contamination.

Australia and New Zealand

Allergy Alert (Australia): VHT Perth recalls Xiang Hai Crab Flavor Crisp Chips, Totato and Seaweed flavours (50g; Best Before 14-04-2021; Product of China) due to undeclared egg.
