OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: CDC reports three new illnesses in the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes linked to El Abuelito Queso Fresco cheese, bringing the total to 10 victims, nine of whom were hospitalized. FDA has expanded its consumer alert to include ALL El Abuelito brand cheeses.
Allergy Alert: Urban Remedy recalls Almond Maca (16 oz bottle; Use by 3/11/2021; UPC 813377021093) and Cacao Mocha (16 oz bottle; Use by 3/11/2021; UPC 813377021093) due to undeclared almonds and cashews.
Food Safety Recall: GLG Trading Inc. recalls approximately 96,810 pounds of beef tallow products that were imported from the People’s Republic of China, an ineligible country for beef, without the benefit of FSIS import re-inspection.
