United States
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: FDA, CDC and the Southern Nevada Health District are investigating an outbreak of five cases of non-viral hepatitis in infants and children, and five additional instances of less severe illnesses. The five cases occurred in November 2020 and appear to be linked to ingestion of Real Water brand Alkaline Water. FDA is advising the public to not drink, cook with, sell, or serve “Real Water” alkaline water.
Pet Food Safety Recall Update: Bravo Packing, Inc. expands its previously announced recall to include all pet food and bones in all package sizes due to the potential for Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall was expanded after an inspection by FDA determined that conditions in the production plant could lead to cross-contamination.
