United States

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: CDC has received reports of 230 lab-confirmed Salmonella cases in 38 states associated with consumption of whole cantaloupe and cut fruit products. Three people are dead, and 96 have been hospitalized.

Allergy Alert: Shakespeare’s Pizza recalls all frozen pizzas due to undeclared wheat. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products which were distributed in grocery stores throughout Missouri, and in a small number of grocers in Kansas, in the Kansas City metro area. 

Allergy Alert: Global Veg Corp recalls AVIATOR brand Sundried Tomato Halves (5 lbs pkgs; Lot 060923/1) due to undeclared sulphites.

Allergy Alert: Prairie Farms Dairy, Inc. recalls private label Holiday Nog (1/2 gal; Lot code 7631005049 I 21-65; Code date 12/19/2023) due to undeclared egg. The recalled product was sold in United Dairy Farmers stores between December 4th through December 6th, 2023.

Allergy Alert / Public Health Alert: USDA issues public health alert for WHOLE FOODS MARKET KITCHENS Birria-Inspired Beef Soup with Hominy (24-oz plastic cups; Lot 11183; Use by 01/02/24) due to undeclared sesame. No recall has been issued as the product is no longer available for purchase.

Food Safety Recall: Wayne Farms, LLC recalls CHEF’S LINE FIRE GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST, ready-to-eat (9-lb. cardboard boxes containing 12 packs of 3; Lot codes 3723289239002 and 3723289239003; Use by 01/14/24) due to possible undercooking.

Canada

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: PHAC has received reports of 129 lab-confirmed Salmonella cases in six provinces associated with consumption of whole cantaloupe and cut fruit products. Five people are dead, and 44 have been hospitalized.

Allergy Alert: Poissonnerie Les Trois Pêcheurs (Saint-Eustache, QC) recalls Saumon calabrese / Salmon Calabrese (All lots lacking correct allergen labeling) due to undeclared egg and mustard.

Allergy Alert:  La Baboche – bistro à broue (Saint-Hyacinthe, QC) recalls Côtes levées / Ribs (350g; All lots lacking correct allergen labeling) due to undeclared mustard, fish (anchovies), sulphites, and soy.

Allergy Alert: Farine & Vanille (Montréal, QC) recalls GRANOLA and  BISCUITS SARRASIN / Buckwheat cookies (All lots lacking correct allergen labeling) due to undeclared gluten.

Food Safety Recall: 1585633 Ontario Inc. recalls Good brand Enoki Mushroom (200g; Lot code 20231031 and all packages without lot code; UPC 4 892742 010340) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled product was sold at T & T Supermarket stores in Ontario.

Food Safety Recall: Kopi Thyme Inc.  recalls various Kopi Thyme brand sauces and soups due to potential for growth of Clostridium botulinum. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: Loblaw Companies Limited recalls multiple fresh cut cantaloupe products (All best before dates from 2023.OC24 up to and including 2023.NO11) due to Salmonella contamination. Allergy Alert (France): PRODUITS DE LA CIGOGNE recalls Les classiques-Prix malin brand Chausson à la viande / Meat turnover (2 x 110g; Lot 246; Use by 14/12/2023) due to undeclared fish.

Allergy Alert (Germany): DEAS S.A. recalls ZEUS Grüne Oliven gefüllt mit Knoblauch / Green olives stuffed with garlic (350g; Best before 21.02.2026) due to undeclared almonds.
