OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: FDA, CDC, and agencies in various states are investigating a 6-state outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis illnesses linked to consumption of raw cookie dough. Eighteen cases have been confirmed to date, and two people have been hospitalized. Papa Murphy’s chocolate chip cookie dough and S’mores bars dough have been implicated in the outbreak. Papa Murphy’s has temporarily stopped sale of these products in its locations across the United States. FDA has initiated an on-site inspection, including collection and analysis of samples.
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION:CDC is investigating a 31-state outbreak of Salmonella illnesses linked to backyard poultry. Nineteen people have been hospitalized so far. The 104 confirmed outbreak victims were infected with one of three Salmonella serotypes: Braenderup, Enteritidis, and Infantis.
OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION:FDA is investigating an outbreak of 19 cases of Cyclosporacayetanensis. The source of the outbreak has not yet been identified.
