Outbreak/Illness Investigations

USA (Update): CDC reports that the Salmonella Telekebir outbreak linked to raw oysters is now over. Twenty-three states reported a total of 80 confirmed outbreak cases, and 34 of the victims were hospitalized. There were no deaths. No single common source of oysters was able to be determined from the available information.

Pet Treat Safety Recall: Elite Treats, LLC recalls Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs (6 oz bag; Lot #24045; Expiration date 04/2027) due to possible Salmonella contamination. The recalled dog treats were sold to Florida Hardware, LLC which sold to feed stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Food Safety Recall Update: Jabbour Export/Import Ltd recalls Mahrousa Tahina (800g; Expiry 23/06/2026) due to possible Salmonella contamination.

Allergy Alert (Ireland): FSAI warns that Ketoclassic 3:1 Porridge, Muesli and Savoury (All batches and Best before dates; Product of UK) contain incorrectly declared gluten (wheat), sulphur dioxide, sulphites, and/or milk.

Hong Kong and Singapore

Outbreak/Illness Investigations

CANADA (Update): PHAC reports 23 confirmed cases of E. coli O26:H11 illnesses in an outbreak that has spread to seven provinces. Five people have been hospitalized. There have been no deaths. Many people who became sick reported eating or handling Pillsbury brand Pizza Pops.

USA: CDC, FDA and partners in several states are investigating an outbreak of 64 confirmed cases of Salmonella Telelkebir in 22 states. Twenty people have been hospitalized. Of the 27 people interviewed, 20 (74%) reported eating raw oysters in the week before becoming ill. CDC and FDA are working to determine the source of the oysters.

United States

Allergy Alert: Gregory’s Foods, Inc.  recalls Bag Full of Cookies White Chocolate Macadamia Nut frozen cookie dough (2-pound 8.5-ounce plastic bag; Best by 12/6/2026) due to undeclared peanuts.

Pet Treat Safety Recall: Consumers Supply Distributing, LLC recalls Country Vet Biscuits – Original Meaty Flavor (4-lb bag; Lot code 40906513; Expiration date 09/06/2026; UPC 899623000463) and Heartland Harvest Dog Biscuits (4-lb bag; Lot code 40906513; Expiration date 09/06/2026; UPC 840227340691) due to possible Salmonella contamination.

Allergy Alert: Veggie Paradise recalls Veggie Paradise brand Vegan Bacon Slice (300g; Best before SEP 24/2026; UPC 8 13794 00030 5) due to undeclared wheat.

Food Safety Recall Update: Multiple Firms recall Various pistachios and pistachio-containing products due to possible Salmonella contamination.
