OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: The Wisconsin Department of Health is investigating at least six cases of Salmonella infections linked to shelled peas sold at Wisconsin Farmers Markets and Farm Stands. The implicated shelled peas were produced by Green Barn Farm Market of Ripon, Wisconsin. Anyone who purchased shelled (loose) peas from Green Barn Farm Market or Green Valley Acres Farm since July 1, 2022, is advised to not eat them and to throw them away, even if the peas have been frozen.

Allergy Alert: Conagra Brands, Inc. recalls P.F. CHANG’S HOME MENU BEEF & BROCCOLI (22-oz plastic bag; Lot 5006 2146 2012; Best by MAY 21 2023) due to undeclared egg.

Allergy Alert: H-E-B recalls H-E-B Creamy Creations Light Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream (1/2 gal; Best by 06 Jan 23; UPC 4122048399) due to undeclared wheat.

Food Safety Recall: Rachael’s Food Corporation recalls approximately 2,246 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry wrap products due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: Super C (Beloeil, QC) recalls  BŒUF HACHÉ MAIGRE and BŒUF HACHÉ MI-MAIGRE / Ground beef, lean and Ground beef, semi-lean (Pack date 26.JL.2022) due to possible foreign matter contamination (pieces of metal).

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (Denmark): The Statens Serum Institut is investigating 18 reports of Salmonella Enteritidis infections received between 31 March 2022 and 15 July 2022. The source of the outbreak has not yet been identified.

Allergy Alert (Belgium): Albert Heijn recalls Albert Heijn brand empanadas pulled pork (Best before 13-08-2022) due to undeclared milk and eggs.

Allergy Alert (Netherlands): Albert Heijn recalls AH brand Tapas Empanadas pulled pork (Best before 13-08-2022) due to undeclared milk and eggs.

Food Safety Recall (France): SODIPORC recalls MAITRE COCHON brand GRILLON CHARENTAIS (180g; Lot 22140140; Use by 01/06/ 2025) due to foreign matter contamination (glass).

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: The FDA and CDC have completed their investigation into an outbreak of Salmonella Senftenberg illnesses associated with consumption of Jif Peanut Butter products manufactured by The J.M. Smucker Company. The FDA is preparing a report  to discuss findings and provide information to assist in future prevention efforts. The outbreak caused 21 illnesses (including 4 hospitalizations) in 17 states.

Allergy Alert: Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc. recalls Marutomo Dashi Soup Base (17.6 oz pkgs; Distributed between July 1, 2021 and July 22, 2022; UPC 074410374020) due to undeclared wheat and soy.

Canada

Allergy Alert: Vicentina Fine Italian Foods recalls Vicentina Fine Italian Foods brand Meat Lasagna (All units sold up to and including July 22, 2022) due to undeclared cashew.

Food Safety Recall: Nita Tout Garni (Montréal, QC) recalls Brandade de morue / Brandade of cod (Sold up to 22 July 2022) due to possible food safety hazard.

Food Safety Recall: L’entreprise liquidation Beauharnois (Beauharnois, QC) recalls Saumon fumé / Smoked salmon (Sold up to 26 July 2022) due to inadequate labeling (lack of correct storage temperature information on product package).

Europe

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE (Denmark): The Statens Serum Institut is working together with the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and the Norwegian Food Institute to identify the source of a Salmonella Enteritidis outbreak that has infected 16 individuals in four regions of the country since the end of March 2022.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (France): An unspecified number of cases of pediatric hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) in PACA et OCCITANIE have been linked to consumption of products from la ferme de l’Aupillon. See recall notice below.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: The FDA has opened an investigation into the source of a new outbreak of 13 cases of Listeria monocytogenes illnesses. No product has yet been linked to the outbreak.

Food Safety Recall: Épicerie du Village recalls Saumon fumé atlantique / Atlantic smoked salmon (Sold up to 9 February 2022) due to absence of mandatory storage temperature instruction on the product label.

Food Safety Recall: Anhydra Inc. recalls Anhydra brand Organic Dehydrated Bananas (125g, 1 kg & 10 kg; Lot 3200; Best before févr-22) due to insect infestation.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (Multiple countries): The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) report an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis infections in Denmark (3), France (216), Netherlands (12), Norway (7), Spain (22) and the United Kingdom (10) during 2021. The outbreak has been linked to eggs exported by Spain.
