OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: FDA is investigating a new outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes illnesses, the source of which has not yet been identified. Two people have been infected.

Food Safety Recall/Outbreak Alert: Real Kosher Ice Cream recalls SOFT SERVE ON THE GO CUPS (8 oz; All flavors; All product produced up to 8/4/23) due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled ice cream has been linked to two cases of Listeria monocytogenes illnesses in New York and Pennsylvania. Both victims were hospitalized. The recalled products were distributed in CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, IL, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, VA, WV.

Allergy Alert: Bickel’s Snack Foods, Inc. recalls Butter Flavored Popcorn (8-ounce clear plastic bags; Lot codes / Use by dates 20 NOV 23 Z4 E1 & 27 NOV 23 Z4 E1; UPC 70175 06021) due to undeclared milk.

Public Health Alert: FSIS issues public health alert for fresh salads and wraps with meat and poultry due to possible lettuce contamination with deer feces. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Food Safety Recall: David Oppenheimer and Company I LLC recalls Zespri organic green kiwifruit (1-lb clamshells; shipped between June 14, 2023 and July 7, 2023; UPC 8 18849 02009 3) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recalled product was sold in retail locations in FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MI, NC, NY, OH, PA, TN, TX, VA, and WI only.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: CDC and USDA are investigating a four-state outbreak of Salmonella SaintPaul most likely associated with consumption of 80% lean ground beef purchased from ShopRite locations in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. Sixteen people are reported ill, and four of them have been hospitalized.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: FDA is conducting traceback investigations for a new outbreak 13 cases of E. coli O26, and a new outbreak of 39 cases of Cyclospora cayetanensis.

Allergy Alert: Rich Products recalls Member’s Mark Breaded Mozzarella Sticks (5-lb net wt. cardboard box; Best if used by 12/28/2024; UPC 078742226880) due to undeclared egg and soy.

Food Safety Recall: E B Express Provisions recalls approximately 622 pounds of the pork and beef bean stew products that were imported from an establishment in Brazil that is not eligible to export meat products to the United States. OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION (Denmark): The Statens Serum Institut is investigating a new 14-case outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis. Work is underway to try and identify the source of the outbreak.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATIONS (UK): The UK Health Security Agency is monitoring clusters of gastrointestinal illness in travellers returning from Turkey. In total across the 5 clusters, between 15 January and 19 July 2023 there have been 241 confirmed cases with Salmonella Enteritidis infection, the majority of these with specimen collection dates from April onwards.

OUTBREAK ALERT: The FDA advises consumers not to eat, and restaurants and food retailers not to sell, and to dispose of raw oysters that were harvested from harvest location NS 10 in Nova Scotia, Canada on June 9, 2023 and were distributed to 17 states and the District of Columbia: CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IN, MA, MD, MI, MN, NJ, NY, OH, PA, TX, and WI. The advice follows a report from the Minnesota Department of Health of 9 cases of Norovirus infections linked to consumption of these oysters.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: The CDC reports that a six-state outbreak of 26 Salmonella Enteritidis infections linked to raw cookie dough is now over. Despite extensive traceback investigation, the FDA was unable to identify a specific ingredient or environmental source for the outbreak.

Food Safety Recall: Suya Slice, LLC recalls approximately 445 pounds of ready-to-eat beef products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.
