CANADA (Update): PHAC reports 32 cases of Salmonella Oranienburg illnesses linked to contact with pet treats manufactured by Puppy Love Pet Products Inc. Eight people have been hospitalized.

FRENCH POLYNESIA (Rangiroa): Health authorities confirm an outbreak of more than 80 cases of Salmonella Enteritidis infections  previously linked to multiple cases of acute gastroenteritis. The outbreak was traced to the consumption of locally prepared dishes, notably smoked chicken and Russian salad made with homemade mayonnaise. Three people were evacuated to Tahiti for hospital treatment and one person has died

Allergy Alert: Brazilian Taste recalls approximately 4,120 pounds of chicken and beef croquettes due to undeclared sesame.

Food Safety Recall: JFE Franchising, Inc. recalls limited number of products containing California-grown yellow and white peaches due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Noix Orientale (Laval, QC) recalls various shelled pistachios due to possible Salmonella contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Greenworld Foods Express Inc. recalls Shaikh Al Kar brand Plain Halva (800g; Batch no. 290124.V; Best before 2026.Jan.28; UPC 6 253011 500616) due to possible Salmonella contamination.

Food Safety Recall: East India Company Ltd. recalls Pistachio Green (5 lbs; Lot 633/09-251) due to Salmonella contamination.

Pet Treat Safety Recall (Update): Puppy Love Pet Products Inc. recalls certain “Puppy Love” and “Puppy World” brand raw pet treat products sold in various bag sizes due to Salmonella Oranienburg contamination. The recalled treats have been implicated in an outbreak of Salmonella Oranienburg illnesses.

CANADA (Update): The Public Health Agency of Canada reports 32 confirmed outbreak cases of Salmonella Oranienburg linked to contact with certain Puppy Love and Puppy World brand raw pet treats. Eight people have been hospitalized. Outbreak cases have been reported in Alberta (14), British Columbia (15), Northwest Territories (1), and Ontario (2). The manufacturer has announced a product recall (see below).

Allergy Alert: Teasdale Foods, Inc. recalls Martin’s and Giant Crunchy Taco Dinner Kit (Lot code 25257; Best if used by MAR 13 26; UPC 68826757516) and Casa Mamita Soft Taco Dinner Kit (Lot code 25259; Best if used by MAR 15 2. UPC 4099100318715) due to undeclared milk.

Allergy Alert: Hampton Farms recalls Mixed Nuts Roasted Unsalted (8 oz; Lot 23025; Best if used by 08/18/2026) and Mixed Nuts Roasted and Salted (8 oz; Lot 23825; Best if used by 08/26/2026) due to undeclared hazelnuts.

Food Safety Recall: Pacific International Marketing recalls 474 cases of bulk Italian Parsley (shipped to wholesalers in AZ, CA, FL, MN, MI, GA, OH and NV between September 22 and September 25, 2025) due to Salmonella contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Homeneeds Inc. recalls Devi brand Cinnamon Powder (Dalchini Powder) (100g bags; Batch #2502315; UPC 6 09595 11904 5) due to lead contamination.

CANADA (Update): The Public Health Agency of Canada reports 31 lab-confirmed outbreak cases of Salmonella Oranienburg likely linked to contact with various dog treats. A single common supplier of dog food or treats has not been identified as the source of the outbreak. Cases have been reported in Alberta (14), British Columbia (14), Ontario (2), and Northwest Territories (1).
