Outbreak/Illness Investigations

USA: The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is working with local health departments and the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) to investigate an outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis that has sickened 63 residents of the state, sending 13 of them to hospital. The outbreak has been tied to consumption of eggs supplied by Vega Farms, Inc. The implicated eggs were recalled on December 5, 2025.

Allergy Alert: South Asian Food Inc. recalls Bengal King Jhal Chanachur food treats (12.34 oz (350gm); Lot HCNCU1205/24; Expiration date June-2026; UPC 8941153046243) due to undeclared peanut.

Allergy Alert: White Castle Frozen Food Division recalls White Castle brand Original Sliders (4-count; Lot codes 9H203521 and 9H203522; Best by April 18, 2026) due to undeclared milk and soy.

Food Safety Recall: Boss Dairy Farms recalls Charlevoix Cheese Company Mild Cheddar Cheese (8 oz; Lot 13220025) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
