United States

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: CDC is investigating an outbreak of Salmonella Stanley infections linked to on-line purchase of small turtles (shells less than 4 inches long). Fifteen illnesses have been reported in 11 states, with 5 hospitalizations. Federal law bans the sale of these small turtles as pets due to the risk of Salmonella infections.

Allergy Alert: Nature’s Sunshine Products Inc recalls  AIVIA Whey Protein + Power Herbs Chocolate and AIVIA Whey Protein + Power Herbs Vanilla Beans (1.33 lb; Multiple lot codes and expiration dates) due to undeclared milk. Food Safety Recall: Eat Just, Inc. recalls JUST Egg Chopped Spring Greens (6 x 12 oz.; Lots 1612, 1802 & 1812; Use by JUN 10 2023, JUN 29 2023 & JUN 30 2023, respectively; UPC1 91011 00101 5) due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Food Safety Recall: Trader Joe’s recalls Trader Joe’s Soft-Baked Snickerdoodles (6 oz / 170g; Best by 02/03/2023) due to possible foreign matter contamination (hard plastic pieces).
