Food Safety Recall: Table 87 Frozen, LLC recalls an undetermined amount of frozen pizza products containing pork and beef that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. The recalled products were shipped to retail and wholesale locations, as well as through online sales, nationwide.

Food Safety Recall: King Arthur Flour, Inc. recalls Unbleached All-Purpose Flour produced by ADM Milling Co. (5-lb bags; Best if used by 12/07/19, 12/08/19, 12/14/19; Lot codes L18A07C, L18A08A, L18A08B, L18A14A, L18A14B, L18A14C) due to shigatoxin-producting E. coli contamination. The wheat used in the milling of this flour has been linked by CDC to an outbreak of E. coli O26 illnesses.

Food Safety Recall: Hometown Food Company recalls Pillsbury® Best 5 lb. Bread Flour (5-lb bag; Use-by dates JUN 08 2020 and JUN 09 2020; Lot codes 8 342 and 8 343) due to shigatoxin-producting E. coli contamination. The wheat used in the milling of this flour has been linked by CDC to an outbreak of E. coli O26 illnesses.

OUTBREAK ALERT UPDATE: PHAC reports a new outbreak of Salmonella Enteritidis illnesses affecting 11 individuals in British Columbia (2), Alberta (1), Ontario (2), Quebec (3), New Brunswick (1), Nova Scotia (1), and Prince Edward Island (1). One person has been hospitalized. The illnesses were linked to a frozen, raw breaded chicken product. On May 24th, Sofina Foods, Inc. recalled Compliments brand Chicken Strips – Breaded Chicken Cutlettes – Uncooked (907g; Best before November 24, 2019; UPC 0 55742 33687 0).

PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT: FDA warns consumers that Bauer’s Candies Chocolate or Caramel Modjeskas (individually wrapped marshmallow candy; purchased after November 14, 2018) may be contaminated with Hepatitis A virus. A worker in the Kentucky manufacturing facility tested positive for hepatitis A. The recalled products are available at retail locations and can also be purchased through QVC and BauersCandy.com. OUTBREAK ALERT (UPDATE): FDA, CDC, and other state and local agencies continue to investigate a multistate outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 illnesses likely linked to romaine lettuce grown in California’s Central Coast growing regions. CDC has received confirmed reports of 52 illnesses to date. Nineteen people have been hospitalized.

OUTBREAK ALERT UPDATE: PHAC has received reports of 27 confirmed cases of E. coli O157:H7 illness linked to consumption of Romaine lettuce from the USA in Ontario (4), Quebec (19), New Brunswick (1), and British Columbia (3). The cases reported from British Columbia were related to travel to Quebec, Ontario and the United States.
