OUTBREAK ALERT UPDATE: CDC reports 68 confirmed cases of Salmonella Enteritidis infections, including 14 hospitalizations, in 9 states as of August 19th. The cases have been linked epidemiologically to loose and bagged peaches packed or supplied by Prima Wawona or Wawona Packing Company LLC.

Allergy Alert: Frito Lay recalls select 1 oz., 1 1/2 oz., 2 5/8 oz., 7 3/4 oz., 12 1/2 oz., 15 1/2 oz. bags of Lay’s Barbecue Flavored Potato Chips due to undeclared milk. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected products.

Allergy Alert: Schaws Sauce recalls Schaws Sweet and Sassy Barbecue and Basting Sauce and Schaws Sweet with Heat Barbecue and Basting Sauce (18 oz. jars; All Use by dates up to and including 8/20/2022) due to undeclared soy and anchovies.

Allergy Alert: Riviana Foods Inc. recalls RONZONI® Smart Taste® Extra-Wide Noodles (12 oz. pkg; Manufacturing codes MAR3022H, MAR3122H, JUN0422H, JUN0522H, JUL2422H, JUL2522H; UPC 71300 05008) due to undeclared egg.

Allergy Alert: B&G Foods recalls Back to Nature Organic Rosemary & Olive Oil Stoneground Wheat Crackers (6 oz pkg; Best by APR 07 2021) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall: Russ Davis Wholesale recalls Crazy Fresh Perfectly Peach Salsa (8 oz; Sell by 6/25/2020 to 8/26/2020; UPC 795631 820270), Quick & Easy Perfectly Peach Salsa (8 oz; Sell by 7/29/2020 to 8/26/2020; UPC 795631 820270) and Clear Label Perfectly Peach Salsa (8 oz; Sell by 7/30/2020 to 8/23/2020; UPC 795631 820270) due to potential Salmonella contamination.

Pet Food Safety Recall: Sunshine Mills, Inc. recalls Nature’s Menu® Super Premium Dog Food with a Blend of Real Chicken & Quail due to potential Salmonella contamination. The recall was initiated after the Georgia Department of Agriculture found Salmonella in a sample of the product.

Canada

OUTBREAK ALERT: PHAC reports 33 confirmed cases of Salmonella Enteritidis illness in Ontario and Quebec linked to consumption of peaches imported from the USA. Three individuals have been hospitalized. Please refer to the eFoodAlert report for additional details.

Food Safety Recall (Hong Kong): Janus Trading Company Limited recalls EAT NATURAL brand Fruit & Nut Bar – Brazil & Sultana, with Peanuts and Almonds (50g; Best before October 31, 2020 and November 30, 2020; Product of UK) due to potential Salmonella contamination.

Food Safety Recall (Singapore): Satoyu Trading Pte Ltd recalls all peaches packed or supplied by Prima Wawona or Wawona Packing Company (product of USA) due to potential Salmonella contamination. These peaches have been linked to outbreaks of Salmonella Enteritidis infections in both the USA and Canada.

Australia and New Zealand

Food Safety Recall (New Zealand): Primor Produce Ltd and Turners and Growers Fresh Ltd recall Prima and Sweet Value brand imported yellow flesh peaches (green fruit sticker with PLU numbers 4044 and 4038; sold in North Island between 10 July and 25 August 2020) due to potential Salmonella Enteritidis contamination. Although there have not been any reported cases in New Zealand, the recalled peaches have been linked to outbreaks of Salmonella Enteritidis in both the USA and Canada.
