Public Health Alert: FSIS issues a public health alert for approximately 165 pounds of imported frozen Siluriformes products. The products were imported from Brazil, a country ineligible to export Siluriformes products to the United States. A recall was not recommended because it is believed that the affected products are no longer available to be purchased by consumers. Please refer to the FSIS notice for complete information on the affected products.

Allergy Alert: BUBS Naturals recalls certain lots of its MCT Oil Powder product due to undeclared milk. Please refer to the recall notice for a complete list of affected lot codes and expiration dates.

Allergy Alert: JOLLY TIME Pop Corn recalls JOLLY TIME Healthy Pop Kettle Corn 100’s (4-count; Production code 1025 (time) 3&4; Best by January 25, 2022; UPC 2819000141) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall: Pure Éire Dairy recalls PCC Organic Grass-fed Yogurt due to possible connection to outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections in Washington State.

Food Safety Alert: CFIA warns the public not to consume unbranded Enoki Mushrooms packed for Metro Brands (99g; All units sold up to and including May 14, 2021; UPC 0 59749 94854 8; Product of Canada and Korea) due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. No illnesses have been reported.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: FDA continues to investigate an outbreak of acute non-viral hepatitis illnesses in the Southern Nevada Health District, linked to consumption of “Real Water” brand Alkaline Water. FDA has completed an inspection of the company’s production facilities in Henderson, NV and Mesa, AZ and is in the process of reviewing the information obtained during its inspections.

Allergy Alert: Lake Champlain Chocolates recalls Mr. Goodtime Bunny (3.25 lb; Best By 11/20/21) due to undeclared almonds.

Allergy Alert: Blount Fine Foods recalls Panera at Home Lobster Bisque (16-oz cups; Lot #030821-11K; Use by 5/17/2021) due to undeclared egg.

Allergy Alert: Jose Madrid Salsa recalls Strawberry Mild salsa (13-oz jars; Sold from 3/26/2018-3/29/2021 at farmers markets and certain retail stores in Ohio) due to undeclared anchovy.

Food Safety Recall: JBS USA Food Company recalls 95CL BONELESS BEEF PRODUCT OF AUSTRALIA (60-lb cardboard boxes; Packed on 02-SEP-20; Australian EST. 4) due to possible E. coli O157:H7 contamination. The meat was shipped to distributors and further processors in New York and Pennsylvania.

Food Safety Recall Update: Olymel S.E.C./L.P. recalls Celebrity EXTRA LEAN IMPORTED HAM 98% FAT FREE (12-lb. plastic film vacuum packages; Product codes 20309 11 – 91, 20309 21 – 91, 20309 31 – 91, 20309 41 – 91 and 20309 51 – 91; Product of Canada) due to possible Salmonella Enteritidis contamination. The recalled product was shipped to distributors in California for further distribution for institutional use.

United States

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION: CDC is investigating a deadly outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 illnesses in Arkansas (6), New York (1), Oklahoma (5), Virginia (2) and Washington (2). One person has died in Washington state, and nine have been hospitalized in this five-state outbreak, which appears to have begun on December 23, 2020. Three of the outbreak victims have developed hemolytic uremic syndrome. CDC has not yet established what food(s) might be behind these infections. The outbreak strain has previous been associated with various sources, including romaine lettuce, recreational water and ground beef.

OUTBREAK INVESTIGATION UPDATE: FDA continues to investigate the source of two Salmonella outbreaks, including an outbreak of seven Salmonella Potsdam illnesses and 60 Salmonella Miami illnesses. No specific food products have been linked to the illnesses as yet.

Public Health Alert: USDA issues a public health alert because raw beef product (~2-lb trays; Packed dates JAN 28 2021 through JAN 31 2021) produced by Greater Omaha Packing Co. Inc., an Omaha, Neb. establishment, may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. 

Food Safety Recall: Williams Valley Family Farm LLC recalls raw (unpasteurized) milk (1/2 gal and 1 gal sizes; Best By 2/08 through 2/17) due to shigatoxin-producing E. coli contamination.

Allergy Alert: Aurpal Inc. recalls Rougié brand Duck Foie Gras (80g; Lot 620307002; Expiry 2022MA03) due to undeclared milk.

Food Safety Recall: Les 400 Pieds de champignon inc. recalls Sauce crémeuse aux champignons sans lactose / Lactose-free creamy mushroom sauce (Large; Production dates up to and including 29 January 2021) and Sauce spaghetti aux champignons / Spaghetti sauce with mushrooms (Large; No date indicated) because the items were manufactured and packaged under conditions that may render them unsafe to consume.
